Does anyone know if the "plate" that attaches to the rear portion of the unit should be permanently attached? Mine isn't, and I'm having some problems with it. The plate seems to vibrate off after a time of firing. When the unit is out of the rifle, my plate would just fall right off if it wasn't for the return spring tension (i.e., pulling the plunger/spring assembly back out of the hole in the plate).

Thanks in advance for any replies.

The plate at the back of mine is welded to the piece that forms the rails.

Thanks Mike. My brother has one but had sent his back in for repair and they welded it on. I wasn't sure if this was normal or not. Instead of sending mine back or taking it anywhere, I think I'll try Red Loctite and see if it holds.

Thanks Again

JB Weld might work better.

Be carefull with the alignment of the rails. If they are off you will get feeding and extraction failures.

Deanh,

I'm talking about the somewhat round end "plate" that is at the rear of the unit. This would not have anything to do with  alignment of the rails. This "plate" is what the recoil spring plunger rests into.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
