So... What's happening with drops of in stock notification? Are they suspended for some reason? Is there a specific time when they are announced as "in stock"? |
So... I find comfort in the fact that if Trump has to work so hard to go to Heaven, then there is a shit load of Democrats that have no f-cking chance to go anywhere but HELL. Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge-hammer.

I just got back from the range from shooting ~300 rounds of 9mm from my AR9 with a trigger kicker. No stoppages at all! For some unknown reason, I did get a slowing of the firing rate while doing my first mag dump, but it smoothed out and functioned perfectly after that. I used a FM 5" upper with FM bolt, a KE lower for Glock mags, a KAK 10 oz. buffer, and a Tubbs AR15 LW 300 BO flat wire spring. And of course, a Hoffman Trigger Kicker for Active Reset. The KAK buffer has four reciprocating tungsten weights inside, and it is quite expensive, but it certainly did work well. However, based on my first experience today with a Tromix H3 buffer, I would probably try a Tromix 9mm Buffer rather than buy another KAK buffer. Based on my previous efforts for getting an FRT to work in an AR9, this one was EASY in comparison! |

Originally Posted By networkguru: Which one? I was thinking the Disruptor version not the Arc fire version though they may both work. The FRT (Disruptor) version is the one I used and it works great. I just finished up my testing today and I'm extremely happy. 10.5" PSA .22 dedicated pistol upper. Stock PSA pistol lower with PSA EPT trigger group. And Kicker obviously. Stock recoil spring, 200% extractor spring, BB firing pin with light spring. Weight is AL body with AL weights / 1 small Tungsten. I polished / honed everything. It doesn't seem to be ammo sensitive, as I've gotten mag dumps with Aguiia HV, CCI SV, even new Rem SV. Black dog and AU 25 rd. mags loaded with 15-20 per. Give it a go. |

I think a member in GD posted a very good way to make this a 3-pos, and it has been tested by at least one other member. |

It will probably need a whole new safety design with more complex cuts and geometry to make it work. |

I tried mine a few days ago while at the range for something else, but forgot to bring an H2 and H3 buffer. 11.5” with H buffer was a no go, lots of dead trigger, likely due to hammer follow. Got some bursts, but a lot of single fire as well. And when I dry cycle it there is no discernible release like you would feel with a Super Safety or Arc Fire, feels more like hammer follow. This was using an all Colt M4 setup, so I am gonna set it up in an additional gun as well, and bring a bunch of heavier buffers. I am just not quite sure what the trigger kicker is supposed to do, I need to watch the video again. About all that I can surmise is that in actual operation it happens so fast that it is quite a bit different than what happens with dry cycling the action…. |

Rate of fire faster (a lot), and more controllable with the can. Just takes a lot of practice. Part of our swat qual long ago was in F/A, and it was 3 to the body, and 1 to the head. Extra good hits were ok, so say 4/2 in the scored zone were GTG, but anything outside the scored areas was a DQ (and pushups). MP5’s had it pretty easy, and the course was designed for those actually. HK G36’s were kind of harder due to higher cyclic rate and cludgy triggers. AR’s and 416’s didn’t have much problem, hit doubles on the head shot fairly often but no big deal. 3 round and 2 rd bursts get pretty easy, and most of the time you could do the 3/1 drill correctly, more often than not at least. But you won’t be zeroing a rifle that way, as it is just a fast slap on the trigger…not real conducive to a perfect shot. |

You'd need a safety that has this same edge facing the kicker when in the 3rd position, it could be a multi cut design like the M16 one is that only has that edge in a tight spot in line with the kicker if needed. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/157876/134g134-3787046.png ETA: Thinking about it more, adding that shelf in the third position would mean that it would also protrude downward when in the semi position and could block the trigger from moving, as if it were on safe. So you'd probably need some clever clearance cut in the trigger as well as the custom safety to deal with that. So you'd probably need some clever clearance cut in the trigger as well as the custom safety to deal with that. I can visualize how a 3-position Trigger Kicker could work. It would need an independent disconnector rotating about the trigger pin as usual but that did not slide fore and aft. It would have to sit next to the Trigger Kicker in the same way as the dual disconnectors do in the M16A2 burst trigger. The selector would be a 3-position SAFE-SEMI-SEMI unit with a cut to let the Trigger Kicker tail to move vertically in the 2nd position (thus allowing the disconnector to catch the hammer in the traditional manner). The disconnector spring would need to be reinstated and the Trigger Kicker cut to clear it. Depending on the dimensions and relationship of the parts, some changes to the trigger might be necessary. While the above mechanism should work, I’d be dubious of its value. The trigger would be forced forward in both modes like in the RB/Disruptor designs, making it inferior to the super selector family of designs (Atrius, ARC Fire etc.). With more parts would come increased cost, making such a device less competitive in a crowded and growing FRT market. The real virtue of the current Trigger Kicker is its simplicity and thus its low cost of manufacture. That and, perhaps, the freedom to operate for Hoffman (depending on the defensibility of his Trigger Kicker IP). Disclaimer: I am not a mechanical engineer

It's not supposed to work with a Colt trigger. It can't slide properly in them. I have mine in a ALG trigger, and you can feel it bump forward when you hand cycle it. I don't feel anything when I shoot it. |

I don't feel anything when I shoot it. Yeah they are, and do, plus it did kind of work, it does move the full distance it should without issue, I think the buffer was just the problem. Others have used them in Colts as well from reviews I have seen. If the kicker piece won’t move that just means the slot is narrower than the kicker piece, easily fixed. Not a Colt issue per se. Schmid made the actual trigger in this particular Colt anyhow, Colt doesn’t make them. I like the ALG ACT triggers, have a bunch of them, but they are kind of wasted in an FRT only setup like the trigger kicker…. You don’t really notice the reset in any of the AR FRT models, as the trigger movement is so minimal the recoil of the gun makes it hard to notice. Try an AK FRT, you absolutely will notice (painful)… |

Originally Posted By JKrammes: This is what I was referring to. Ahhh- sure enough. That was the issue. As it moves backwards the kicker rises up and binds on the safety, so it doesn’t get the full rearward movement it should get. Think I can just file a relief on the rear edge of the kicker to fix that easily enough, it did still function somewhat despite that. With the ACT it gets a regular FRT reset cycle happening like it should. But modifying that corner is better than wasting an ACT on a dedicated safe/frt mode gun. I have a slew of Colt triggers from different decades, at least 4 different designs along the way, some of them don’t even have a left side at the back, nor a back end, but I bet a fair amount of them will have that slot where it is not fully machined. Not sure if Colt did it as an anti F/A measure or not, but it basically it is just left as cast, unlike the machined area where the disconnector sits. Wasn’t mentioned in any armorer classes at the time I attended, but you can’t count on Colt being consistent with much over the years. I am also gonna modify a kicker to work with a large pin Colt lower, should be simple enough, just make that oval cutout wider front to back. Not sure why the guy in that video swapped the hammer (mentioned in his follow up), it won’t make any difference without a ramped carrier that leaves the firing pin exposed, so you can leave a notched hammer in with a FA style carrier. Thanks for posting that video, I have not had a spare moment to try to diagnose the issue and start swapping parts into other rifles to narrow down what part was the issue, so it saved me a bunch of time. |

I mean, that “roller coaster” ledge is not exactly unique to Colt, and not all Colt triggers will have it, but if it does, yeah it’ll probably cause it to hang up and just hammer follow. TIL…thanks for posting. I think it’s fair to say it is not compatible with current new Colt triggers, but it is a really easy fix. Not like you have to mill the slot further back or anything, just take a little off those tiny spots at the rear. Or use another trigger I guess. Would be nice if it were mentioned on the site…a lot of people are going to just run in hammer follow, esp since for some reason this seems to have attracted a lot of people who are new to FRTs and may just think that’s how it works. |

I run Giessele triggers in most of my guns. The only reason I have mine in my ACT is because all my spare triggers are Scmidt, and the kicker will not move in them. I'm going to pick up something else to put in to run the Kicker. I'm doing a Blood Diamond build, and that will most likely be what I put it in. |

Not having much luck with FTTs. Getting hang fires with the Trigger Kicker. First two rounds fire, 1/2 second pause, next round fires, next round chambers with hammer down. Light primer strike on chambered round. Trigger held back the entire time. Colt 14-1/2 upper Colt SP1 carbine lower Colt 3 oz sliding weight buffer, 5 oz hydraulic buffer, KAK 5.8 oz sliding buffer. I'm running out of buffers to try. |
