Well, it came in early.

Tried it in the nearest rifle I had handy, a SOLGW lower with a MBT-2 trigger, and it did not work at all. The safety went in with no problems, and seems very well made. Could not get the hammer to release in first, second, or third positions. Will try it in some other lowers with a MBT, a milspec trigger, and a couple of Geissele triggers next.

ETA: Derp!! I installed the spring on the wrong side of the lever.

After installing it correctly, Safe is still good, Fire works as normal, with the exception that overtravel is almost completely gone (a nice bonus, but gives me some concern that any more would prevent the hammer from falling in Semi), however FRT does not work. The hammer will not fall in FRT, unless I rack the charging handle, which then allows the hammer to fall as the bolt goes into battery.

ETA 2: Called and spoke with Drew at CFA. He was super helpful. He explained that the iterative change they made to the lever was to get it to work with SSA, SSA-E triggers, etc. without the need for minor sanding. But it now looks like the one radius that was changed no longer works with the MBT. He offered to send me one of the old levers out immediately so I could get it working with the MBT.

I held him off until I had tried it with some of my Geissele triggers. First test on an Aero lower with a SSA trigger showed correct dry function in all 3 positions. Will now try it in a PWS lower with an SSA-E.

ETA 3: Worked with the Geissele triggers and the BCM PNT trigger, but not with the MBTs. Looks like I'll need the old style lever.

This is disturbing. I bought my Cornfire MARC solely to employ with LaRue MBT triggers and nothing else. Promotional material states that it works with MBTs. I have Arizona Regulators where I want them. I'm going to buy some Partisan Triggers when they become available. I have hosts for them.

If my Cornfire MARC does not work with MBTs, then it is worthless to me. I don't have any Geissele triggers and am not going to buy some just to have a host for my MARC unit. I'm not opposed to Geissele triggers, I think that they are great, I just don't have any. Some time ago I decided to run LaRue MBTs and have ever since,

I received my Cornfire MARC today, but will return it unopened if necessary.

What will it take to get the parts for my MARC so that it will actually work with my MBT trigger as promised?

If it works, I will buy more for my other MBTs. This is why I only purchased one MARC to begin with.

Cornfire, if you're reading this, you're going to want to sell versions to be compatible with G$ triggers with no mods necessary, and with Larue MBTs with no mods necessary.

I can't stress enough how far this will put you ahead of the market.

All you will need is the older lever, which they will send you. As I mentioned, the new version was created to address the slight issue with the G triggers (0.3mm difference), but it unfortunately comes at the cost of the MBTs. Easy fix.

As much as they probably don't want to do it, they will probably need 2 separate SKUs. One for MBTs and one for Geisseles. It looks like both lever versions work with milspec triggers, so that part's a wash.

Absolutely. If it's just a matter of two different needed parts, this will go fine.

I'm willing to extend a fair amount of leeway here if they're open and straight shooters, which they seem to be. I'm extremely excited to get my selectors!

I agree with 2 different versions, especially if both still work with milspec triggers. I really like MBT triggers as they are affordable and have great trigger pulls.

I have Arizona Regulator FRTs and I like how they have separate SKUs for each type of trigger. I have their 2 position milspec and MBT versions plus a couple of the 3 positions FRTs. They have run flawlessly because they were tuned to the specific triggers.

I will probably email Cornfire and request the MBT trip arm.

Not sure if someone already answered- but these are not parts compatible with the Atrius. Many changes were made to improve the MARC and because of those dimensional changes, things won't swap.

I’m in the same boat, orders a MARC the other day specifically to use with an MBT. I’ll reach out to cornfire to see if it’s as simple as sending me the other lever.

+1 for 2 SKUs. The closer we can get to these being drop in with no mods, the better for everyone.

Dropped mine into a lower with a SSA-E, function test seemed ok except for the hammer appeared to be dropping pretty early compared to other FRT systems. The feel of the trigger was not effected at all. I have the 3d printed piece on the G hammer.

Tested it on a 10.5 upper suppressed and unsuppressed, with bootleg bcg, and with every buffer combination and could not get it to run.

Didn't take any other uppers to test that I have confirmed to run on other systems. Really want it to work and will keep trying.

Looks like I am a late comer to this unit, must have been under my rock again.

Things that perk my interest:
Compatible with G triggers
G triggers need no, or very little fitting. Already ahead of the ARC-fire and Atrius.

Things that make me sad:
No ambi model available.
I shoot lefty, so ambi is a must and if no ambi, its a dealbreaker for me.

For fucks sake...the MBT was listed as drop in, no * when I purchased. Now its listed as an * trigger. Based on the response it would seem the MBT should have been an * from the get go

Hopefully this "guide" for fitting is done soon. I can probably figure it out myself, still, I shouldn't have to

Yep, this the jist of what I've gotten as well.  They've been perfectly cordial and I will reserve judgement to see how this whole thing plays out.  I DO NOT get the feeling that it was an intentional bait and switch so will give it some time.  That said, mine does NOT work in position 3 with the MBT2.0 which is the whole reason I bought one.

I was looking for LaRue MBTs within the last day or two. I wanted to pick some more up. But, boomer that I am, was unable to find any. Primary Arms had them on sale about Halloween time for $90 some dollars or so. Maybe it was in the high 80s. I'm not sure. $85. It was the lowest price that I had seen in a while. I bought some MBTs directly from LaRue when they were on sale for $75. Buy 'em cheap and stack 'en deep! Primary Arms has been out of MBTs since that October sale. I have searched numerous times for more MBTs and never seen them anywhere.

With the Geissele prices at Primary Arms I am seriously considering getting a few Geissele triggers to try out. I actually have one or more in my cart at the moment.

EDIT: Which triggers should I be considering? There is quite a selection and I'm not a Geissele guy, so I'm pretty ignorant in this regard. Help!

EDIT #2 for clarity

Milspec Active Reset Conversion (MARC)

This is the 3 position FRT with the "normal" milspec safety you know and love.

A product that is as clone correct as it gets.

S7 tool steel lever. 4140 selector lever.

All the details, instructions, and product videos can be found are below.

- "Drop back" Milspec: PSA, most generic AR-15 triggers
- Geissele SSA
- Geissele SSA-E
- Geissele SD3G
- Geissele SD-E

Recieved mine today. Dropped in no issues in a New Frontier Armory lower and an older (5+ years old) G SSA-E.

I added a 3d printed hammer unjammer from a previous project while I wait for CAs lever blocker.

Dry firing, all 3 positions work as intended. Works even without the hammer unjammer as well so ill try out both in live fire sometime after tomorrow. Pleasantly surprised I had zero fitting to do.

Curiosity got the better of me. Threw the selector into a Nodak Spud A1 repro lower with an old (7ish years) MBT. Dry fire, all positions work as intended, no fitting necessary. My hammer unjammer does not work with the Larue hammer so I might have to wait for the lever blocker to show up before I try that one live fire.

Hey everyone — just wanted to pass along some info regarding the Cornfire Arsenal MARC and LaRue MBT-2S triggers, since I’ve seen a lot of questions and speculation floating around.

Right now, it looks like MBT-2S triggers will *likely* need a bit of modification to run properly with the MARC. The main thing seems to come down to the wider tolerances on the back of the MBT-2S trigger shoe, plus a few other small factors that show up during actual function.

what about the different cam/lever styles? From what I understand, Cornfire did make a small cam change to help improve compatibility across more trigger models. But even with that update, it doesn’t seem accurate to say the MBT-2S will be 100% drop-in without touching the trigger shoe. Some will have success and others won't, luck of the draw based on the trigger really.

If anyone ordered a MARC planning to use it with a LaRue and now realizes that might not work for them, reach out to Cornfire — they’ll take care of you with a full refund if needed. They’re trying to make sure nobody ends up stuck with something that doesn’t perform how they expected.

Just wanted to get accurate info out there instead of assumptions. Hope that helps somebody who’s been wondering!

Got the same email. I replied asking what mods will need to be done for an MBT to work. Seems odd that Patrick mentioned the trigger shoe needing work...I would have thought any mods would be at the back end of the trigger where the safety/lever interact.

Edit;
Already got a response. Shaving the tail a bit and possibly some rounding of the tail. I'm up for giving it a go assuming the MARC i receive won't work without tail mods with my triggers. CFA plans to have a guide for the mods soon.

Test fit with MBT-2 and BCM Milspec Stage 2 Triggers.

I got my MARC in today and test fit it in 2 BCM lowers. One had the BCM Milspec 2 stage trigger and hand cycling all positions worked correctly. The other lower had a Larue MBT-2 trigger in it and again hand cycling all positions worked correctly. My MARC doesn’t have the dot on the top of it next to the curve. It was mentioned in this thread that the ones with the dot next to the curve are the updated design. Just pointing out what mine is for reference.

I’m very happy to say the least and I’m going to try and shoot them tomorrow morning with both triggers. My MBT-2 triggers are old as I bought the years ago so maybe Larue changed the design on recent ones? IDK, but I’m lucky that my trigger works.

If live fire works with my triggers then I’ll buy more then update the thread :)

Also, I have a AS Designs ARC trigger and the MARC looks to be a better trigger. The actual thumb selector looks like a traditional selector and is smooth to operate using standard safety detent pin. My ARC thumb selector is small and with smooth texture. It doesn’t rotate as smooth as the MARC. Installing the MARC was easier as it’s really only 3 pieces (not including the spring and Allen screw). The ARC wasn’t hard but you had to line up the small pieces and it initially took a bit because there were no instructions. The MARC doesn’t need instructions.

Reading here I didn't realize there was an update to the lever design. My second Cornfire FRT came in today, early, and there's no dot on the tip of the lever so I guess that means it's the updated one (previous one was the older style with the dot).

Update on the previous one in the Bushmaster 20" A2 - runs prefect. Again, I had to clearance that one's "mil-spec" trigger to remove binding at full compression and some BCG binding as well.

New FRT install - I went to install this in a retro M16A1 build on NDS receivers (upper and lower) and DPMS "mil-spec" trigger. The FRT fit with no binding even at full compression in the lower but would sometimes not release the hammer in FRT mode. Severe binding in the BCG. In fact, the BCG locked up into the rear and I had to tap out the take down pins to get it loose. I swapped the A1 upper onto the previously mentioned A2 lower not only was it hard to install it had severe binding, the same problems. I could not fit the known good A2 upper on the NDS A1 lower... Of course, the NDS receiver set was a matched pair and work perfectly together minus the FRT. I say all that to say it shows my previous point about tolerance stacking or out of spec parts, even though the NDS receivers where NOT cheap.

New FRT install take 2 - Known good Bushmaster M4gery: the Wise Arms FRT was moved to the S&W (SBR) and a unmodified, completely stock Bushmaster "mil-spec" FCG installed. New Cornfire FRT dropped into the lower perfectly with ZERO binding at full compression. Zero binding in the upper and function checked out perfectly. All clearances seem perfect.

So, this updated lever does seem to give hope for a completely drop-in solution for "mil-spec" FCGs. At least it did for my M4gery.

And just because Cornfire in on here: Any plans for a ambi-style selector? Maybe an update to the finish to not be glossy/shiny? I really like the "standard" selector styling but gloss/shiny really doesn't blend well with standard matte finishes. Oh, and yeah an upgrade to torx screws would be nice.

Further testing. Found in my parts box a more recent production Geissele SSA-E about 2ish years old to test alongside a likewise roughly 1-2 year old MBT and both did not work.

The G trigger I get the first stage and then a solid, as if its on safe, wall. I imagine some filing/sanding on the top of the left side of the tail of the trigger will make it work.

The MBT, that will need some more investigation. In 3rd position, first stage was a crunch and then nothing. Not worried about this particular MBT as the barrel in that upper is a stainless noveske I don't want to burn out just yet.

Sweet Baby Jesus this thing rocks!!

I took the MARC out shooting this morning and put 570 flawlessly down range. I used 2 BCM lowers and moved the MARC between them. One had the flat MBT-2 trigger and the other was the BCM PNT Milspec trigger. I used it in a 14.5in Geissele upper (suppressed/unsuppressed), Colt 16in upper (suppressed/unsuppressed), Colt 11.5in Commando upper (Suppressed/unsuppressed, & DD M18 10.3 in upper (unsuppressed).

All I did was install the trigger, I didn’t adjust anything to make it work in the lowers or triggers. Also the uppers went on easy and didn’t bind. I accidentally left my H1 buffer in my first lower when I shot the 14.5 and 16 in uppers. Even with the H1 buffer it fired flawlessly. I did put an H3 buffer in for the other shorter uppers.

I am extremely happy with this trigger and I just bought some more. My friend would love an ambi selector as he is unfortunately a lefty. Even if the Larue MBT trigger didn’t fit, the BCM Milspec trigger had a great trigger pull and shot great. I image the Geissele trigger will be the chef’s kiss.

Out of all the FRTs/Super Safety’s that I shot the MARC is the best one in my opinion. Super easy to swap to another lower and you don’t have to modify your trigger or safety detent pin. Plus the selector feels like a standard Milspec selector. The trigger pull is whatever trigger you have in the lower and it shots great with very minimal felt trigger movement.

2nd favorite: Arizona Regulator 3 position. As long as the upper and lower are Milspec then it will fit and function flawlessly. It worked will all the uppers in my above list although the DD upper was a tight fit. The semi auto trigger pull isn’t that great and you can’t easily swap lowers. Also, you can feel the trigger moving more than the others, not really trigger slap.

3rd Favorite: ARC trigger. It works great but you need to modify your trigger and if you want a Geissele you will have to modify it to work. I actually have a Larue MBT trigger for my ARC. The thumb selector on the ARC is terrible. It’s small thin and smooth. Plus it doesn’t rotate smoothly like the other triggers. I can’t believe they came up with that design. It’s not as plug and play for me as the MARC and I had to tune it to work.

Least favorite: The original 2 position Rare Breed. I bought one when it came out and the trigger would jam up if you held the trigger down. Also, it had a design flaw which linked a spring. I haven’t shot the new 3 position Rare Breed which I’m sure works fine, but is $450.

I am curious if you can use this on super safety lowers AS Designs makes. It would be nice not to have to modify a trigger to work. Just drop the MARC in.

Thanks Cornfire for making this and your responses here. I did also get an email concerning the whole MBT issue. It seems like the MBT may or may not work. Luckily for me it works beautifully.

Glad you had such a blast with it!

Could you tell me if your lever has the the dot near the tip, or if it's on the cam at the bottom?

My lever doesn’t have the dot on the top of the lever near the tip. I’m not sure if it’s on the cam as I didn’t look there specially for that. I’ll look at it again later.

MARC + Geissele SD-C is a winning combo. ASD metal lever blocker. Didn’t have to do any fitting. Only tested about a mag and a half and just that G trigger so far but I’m a happy customer. Thanks for the unintentional discount Drew, Happy Thanksgiving! I’m in for some ambi models.
