I have searched for some actual numbers on the lengths of various types of buffers and it has been challenging.  What I've found so far is the AR-15 rifle buffer =6", carbine buffer =3.25"
My question is what is the length of the vltor A5 buffer and the AR-308 carbine buffers.
I have a new magpul sr25 extension tube and want to use it on an AR-15 build but don't want to buy the recommended A5 buffer.  If I had the length of the various buffers I could make and install a spacer in the buffer tube that would let me use a standard carbine buffer.
- Thanks

Remind me tonight in an IM and I can measure both for you.

I just measured my A5H2 at 3.990 including the rubber bumper pad.

My dpms style carbine 308 buffer measures 2.510 including the rubber bumper.
