Hi All,
Looking to build my first AR and have purchased a stripped Spike's lower. Unfortunately, I can't swing a LPK from BCM at the moment What decent LPK would be recommended for under $100? Thanks! |
| I'm kind of looking for the same thing...do any of you have experience with AT3 LPKs? |

I think RRA still has them for $52. That's a hell of a deal at that price. Recently bought 5 myself and have used them for the last 10 years or so. Never a problem. That would be my first thought on the cheaper side. That or a stag kit but I think they are more. Really OP my first thought is to say save up for a bcm or sionics lower parts kit around the 100 dollar mark. Sure you are paying more but you are getting a better trigger, the enhanced trigger guard, and a nicer pistol grip in both of them. Might save you in the future as you may not see the need to upgrade some of those parts. |

RRA is indeed a fine kit. You wouldn't think there is a noticeable different between kits, but the RRA is definitely better quality then other kits I've used (PSA, for example).
Never had a kit not work.. but the RRA fit and operation is very nice. And I'm not an RRA fnaboi either, after waiting 10 weeks for LPKs they put on sale and didn't have in stock. But no denying it's quality. |

LPK This PSA LPK is an outstanding deal. It comes with a Magpul grip, Magpul Polymer trigger guard and PSAs polished trigger which is nearly identical in feel to a ALG ACT trigger. |
| The RRA kits are GTG and reasonably priced with lots of options as to grips and triggers. Maybe opt for the one without a FCG then get either a LaRue MBT (sweet!) for $125 or a Velocity drop in trigger group for around $135, and a grip that suites you like maybe a Magpul or Ergo. |

I have had very good luck buying LPK's less the trigger group from both WOA and JP Rifles, and then adding a ALG QMS or upgraded trigger. It results in a much, much higher quality package than a PSA, DPMS or other kit's I've bought--PSA being by far the worst.

For the money, the PSA is hard to beat. CMMG is also a soild choice. I may be missing something, but I can't figure out why anyone would spend more than $59 for the PSA kit....comes with Magpul grip and oversized trigger guard. Its one thing if you are changing the triggers out, but the rest of the parts should be fine. I know I have built around 5-7 lowers with their kits, and haven't had any issues. What is the benefit of the more expensive kits? |

I feel a critical part in the LPK is the trigger. I highly recommend a good trigger that is why I look at ALG which I feel is superior to standard LPK offerings I have tried.
I must admit that I have not tried the CMMG or Stag LPK. Has anyone compared ACT to the triggers in these later two? The Brownells lower parts kit with an ALG ACT trigger is under $100 and the ALG QMS is under &75.00. Alternative MS556's CMMG above solution + ALG is an attractive approach as well. |

What is the benefit of the more expensive kits? I've installed both PSA and RRA kits. I use th PSA kits on my PSA rifles and have the RRA on my more expensive lowers. There is definitely a difference. The fit is better and the operation is better (eg pushing the TD pins or operating the safety). Don't get me wrong, they will both work just fine-- but there is definitely a difference. Maybe it's the tolerances or maybe its the coating.. No idea. I have both, and side by side there is a clearly noticeable difference. |

I only run CMMG and ALG. My ACT is better than my CMMG and QMS, imo. That being said, I like the QMS alot for the $$. |
