I have been trying to figure out how to search this forum, and everything is coming up "No Topics Found" and then there is a time restriction between searches. Hopefully I can figure it out.
But in the meantime, I am starting my build with the lower and I have few questions. My lower is Multi Cal and I am wanting to build it for the .308 round. Is their a specific trigger that I will need specifically for the .308 verses the .223? Or will one trigger work with both rounds? Also, I am looking into the CMMG lower kit, are there other lower kits out there that I should consider? Are there lower kits without the triggers and grip? I am thinking, no sense paying for a trigger if I am just going to get an upgraded one. Thanks for the time and help, I am looking forward to working with my build and learning more about the AR-15. And if there is anything else I should be considering please feel free to let me know. Rick |

I can't comment on specific .308 triggers, but I'd caution you to make sure your lower is indeed a .308 lower. Usually lowers labelled "multi-cal" are .223/5.56/9mm lowers.
The easiest way to search this site is to use Google. put "site:ar15.com" or just "ar15.com" at the end of your search and you'll get relevant results. |

I just called the company that made the lower and you're correct, they said the .308 is a larger platform. Not a problem for me, just thought it would be nice to build a .308. But all my other questions still stand. |

Yes, standard AR triggers work in a .308 AR. Palmetto State sells lower parts kits without the FCG (fire control group) if you're wanting to save some money. Or you can get kits that have a variety of different grips and/or triggers. http://palmettostatearmory.com/ar-15-05/lower-parts/parts-kits.html?p=1 For example, they sell lower parts kits with an upgraded trigger already included.
