Ok, I found out where my upper was made, found the forge mark and found a list for forges. What I want to know is where are the forge marks on the lower and where can I find a list to match it too?

There generally aren't forge marks on lowers, hence no lists.

Both of my Anderson lowers have Cerro forge markings on them.

A local machine shop showed me the forgings they buy, and the forging mark was on the area where the pistol grip attaches.  The forge mark gets milled away as part of the sizing/ cleaning up process.

They are usually on the web where the pistol grip goes, and are machined off....

+1 at keyhole - both of my Anderson lowers have them.  IIRC it is right hand side closer to the buttstock end of the lower in the trigger area.

Very impressive list. Out of all of these I've only seen about 5-6.  Do all of these forgers still make AR forgings as of today?  What would the list look like if you removed all the forge markings that are non-existent in last 5yrs?

To add to the confusion, some forging marks get milled off when machining a lower, and Cerro moved theirs to just in front of the pistol grip area so it remains visible after machining and assembly. They sort of "Branded" their forgings by doing this. I used 99% Cerro in the past, but have tried Anchor Harvey, Brass and Aluminum, and a couple of smaller companies products they sent me as samples. I stick with 100% Cerro now for uppers and lowers.
