My ar currently has a cmmg lpk, currently updated to a BCM upper and wanted to update the lower lpk to something close to bcm quality. Would changing out the CMMG LPK be worth it it? Or should I just keep extra parts for whatever may come.... What parts should I keep spare of?

No.  If you want an actual upgrade, buy a nice trigger.  Otherwise, literally setting fire to money is all you would be accomplishing.

CMMG LPK'S are high quality. If you want to upgrade lower parts I'd just upgrade the trigger

As the above posters said upgrade the trigger. There rest of your lpk will be on par with other lpk's quality.

This. Most LPK are of equal quality, sometimes they are hit and miss (DPMS in my experience). LPK's, stick with a quality name for the cheapest you can get it, and spend the rest on a nice trigger. IMO, the Geissele SSA is the best do-all trigger for a do-all rifle, but there are many good options from Geissele, CMC, Timney, etc. On a budget, the ALG Defense ACT trigger is a decent upgrade for the money.

Why? Is there something wrong with the one you have?

As you see, The hive has spoken. Just upgrade the trigger to a geissele and be done with it. If you really insist on wasting that money on a new LPK... Feel free to send it my way Care of... Communitys Against Stupid Hippys or just abbreviate it,  CASH

I decided not to a long time ago lol, concerned and thought the rumors were true about them being rebranded dpms, which may or may not be bad thing, but no one has said anything glaringly bad about the cmmg group so I figure if it works and no complaints about it being junk, then fuck it.... Thanks for the replys

Find a stag FCG.  I wouldn't replace anything else until it malfunctions.

If it's already installed then I wouldn't mess with it, Not worth the hassle. Just replace parts as needed.

Can I pile on???

I actually go out of my way to use CMMG LPK's...  Put in a nice trigger and be done!

If you'd like a good trigger that won't break the bank, get an ALG ACT (Advanced Combat trigger). Basically there is no upgrade that you can spend $65 on that is better. The triggers are tuned by Geissele.. I have one in one of my rifles. It has a very crisp break and excellent reset. It's worth the 65 bucks.

A QMS lower parts kit from PSA is a very nice LPK.

Really though, you only need to upgrade the trigger if you want to "upgrade" at all.

Besides from a trigger upgrade, you could always upgrade to KNS Non-Rotating pins.  Then again, what you have is fine.  If it is not broken, why change it?  Having an extra firing pin as backup could be a good idea.

If it were me I would keep what you have.  OP you ask about spare parts FWIW I keep spare guts to rebuild each rifle I own but that's just how I roll.  I also keep complete BCG's, gas tubes etc.  I hope this helps and nice rifle.

Similar to this and similar in $ is the Spikes Battle Trigger.  Essentially a milspec unit polished and NiB coated.  It's butter smooth and only about $55.  I have one in everything to maintain consistency from stick to stick.

As for KNS pins they are bling, you standard pins are fine and don't catch lint or dirt or whatever.

The only other upgrades I might advise are of the ambidextrous variety.  Having a piece you can make function with either hand in the worst of scenarios is a good thing.  I'm a lefty so everything is ambi out of necessity, but I practice with both hands for that eventuality.  In that instance an ambi safety, norgon mag release, and a Phase-5 extended bolt release are all good choices to put on a standard lower.
