Got my work bench set up and almost ready to start ordering parts. I've had several Ar15's so I know my way around them somewhat. I'm gonna get my tools up in the next week or so.
What are some of the essential tools that I should get? I have been researching and have a general idea but it never hurts to get some more imput. Thanks! |

Some essential tools for AR building are a wrench for castle nut (if going to use collapsible stocks) ,a good set of punches (Roll Pin punches preferably but others will do fine), brass or nylon hammer, barrel nut wrench (torque wrench also), a clam shell vise block for upper when installing barrels, and a good vise. there are also many other tools that are not really necessary but do help get the job done, too many to list. A good place to start for some tools would be Brownells. |

Go for it & Good Luck! I started out with this Wheeler AR-15 Armorer’s kit: Already had this vise & hammer in my workshop: Bought a M16A1 parts kit w/barrel, stripped lower, LPK, and in less than two hours I was ready to head to the range! |
| I have regular punches, a good vice, and I ordered a magpul bev block. I have my bench set up pretty nice! Gonna order the rest of my tools on this next paycheck I think. I would have ordered them all this week but I figured a CMC trigger for my 300 blackout pistol would be a better investment at the time:) |
