Took it to the range today. They have a gun smith who head spaced it. It checked out fine.
Shot great. I put around 100 rounds through it. I shot mostly 55gr 223 but had some Silver State Armory 5.56 77gr hollow point. Gun ate them both just fine out to 100 yards. The only thing I had for bracing was my elbows. Optic arrives today but still need a mount. That was the first time I've ever used an aperture sight. I've either had optics, pistol sights, or commie sights (Mosin, SVT-40, Vepr). Looking forward to seeing what I can do with it when I have a bag and the optic. Also looking forward to how it all cleans up. NiB bolt and stainless steel barrel should be nice and easy. |
Got my scope on. Forgot that I'd built a different lower for it.

Looking forward to taking it to the range again with the 2-stage trigger as compared to the mil-spec trigger in the other lower. |

Expect a call from the White House for claiming 'I built that'. Looks good, waiting for rang report. You didn't build that. That was luck that the collection of random pieces fell into the shape of a functioning AR. Too funny... Hope the range time goes well! |
