Howdy Folks,
I am relatively new to the AR world. And also a self-admitted over achieving perfectionist. I am never really satisfied.
That being said, I'd like some help in the beginning stages of my next build. I would like to get some recommendations on a few good books to read on the general basics, mid level tuning, and higher end gunsmithing quality work to read. Thanks in advance. |

Check out Walt Kuleck's books Thank you sir. I'll research him. I have "the AR15 complete assembly guide and "the complete owners guide". Owners guide is a little dated but the assembly guide is a godsend for new owners. |

It may be unwarranted advice but here I go.
You mention high end gun-smithing. I wouldn't bother. The beauty of the ar15 is in its modularity and standardization. There are only a few things that can be done to an ar15 that I would consider "high end gun-smithing" and still have it be an ar15. If high end blue printing actions, bedding, trigger tuning, crown design, chamber design, crown design are your thing you'll find much more joy in a platform more suited towards it. There are hundreds of companies that make an incredible amount of ar15 parts in every conceivable configuration. You'll be able to use then all if you stay more towards the standard end of things. Reloading could also fill in for your desire for perfection. Working up loads can be incredibly rewarding. |

I have "the AR15 complete assembly guide and "the complete owners guide". Owners guide is a little dated but the assembly guide is a godsend for new owners. Amazon has the new Owners Guide, 2014 edition. I splurged on expedited shipping to get that baby in hand before the waiting periods ends. |
