Im looking at a 20" with A2 F marked FSB but the only carry handle I have is from a Colt 16" 6920.

Will this handle work? I've never owned a 20 before.

Do I need to mess with the elevation knobs or can I just zero at 50m and be pretty much dead on out to 200?

Thanks in advance gents.

The carry handle is the same and should work just fine.

Got it! Not a perfect clone but on a budget.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I don't really dig those fatter handguards though.  But it's a minor thing......

Its a great shooter! Wow these 20s are really underrated.

Very smooth, low recoil, ejection was perfect and consistent. Only had to make a slight elevation adjustment and it was zeroed within 20 rounds.

Cycled 193, 855, 62 Fusion, 62 BTHP everything I threw at it as fast as I could pull the trigger.

Just using irons and 855 I was getting 2-2.5" groups at 50m laying prone with mag as monopod so 4-5 MOA which is fine by me. Will be fun to put an optic on it and see what the accuracy potential is.

I recommend everyone get a rifle like this!

Your basic A2 should be in everybody's gun safe.  It's simple, accurate, and it works.

If I had to start over I'd buy an A2 or A4 FIRST and then expand from there.

I need to get around to updating my A2 to a detachable carry handle type.  It's still stuck with a fixed handle and
although that's retro cool and all that,  I'd rather switch it over to a flattop upper for better optics choices.  And
replace the FSB with a gas block and folding front sight, too.

I would love to take the fixed carry handle off your hands. PM if interested I'm sure we could work something out. I think I want to do one of those 11.5" w/ pinned 5.5 moderator CAR type builds with a fixed handle.

I have a beat up Colt 30rd that I'm going to load with LC 855 to keep in the A2. The extra velocity should do the 855 nicely and it is a cool 80s/90s throwback rifle. GI mags only in this gun!

Damn $75 that's pretty reasonable.  I also need to get a fixed 5x PA Prizm too, I cant afford to do it with ACOG.

I was thinking about doing that same thing.  Only 30 round USGI mags in it.  LOL.  And I do have some M855 that I should run through it.

Nice, as stated same carrying handle for both rifle and carbine in service.  I've been known to build 20" guns too.

Personal M16A4 clone (have since added ejection port door and M1907 leather sling)  Some parts I've had for a very long time

20" uppers built for Uncle Sam down range.

Very cool CD.

I added a mag pouch to the buttstock. I'm going to add a D ring to the straps and use it like this:

https://www.blueforcegear.com/a2-buttstock-adapter.html

And then use a Blue Force Gear UWL to attach it to the FSB with a VCAS (already own those..nice pieces of gear).

Eventually I'll add a rail and KAC VFG with a PA Prizm 3x optic or similar as my "A4" clone.

Still going to retain the original furniture and stuff so I can keep the retro look when I want to. Maybe snag a used ACOG off EE one day.
