Are you're putting the autosear in a registered automatic weapon manufactured before 1986 or are you a licensed manufacturer of NFA firearms building an automatic weapon for "demonstration" purposes and for potential sale to LE or the military?  If not what you are planning is illegal.

No he isn't. He states he wants a registered auto sear which I assume he is meaning a drop in auto sear or lightning link registered before '86. Don't just jump to conclusions that somebody is a criminal when you don't know the facts.

I don't have a registered sear (I wish) or an m16 so I can't help you too much. Go over to the m16 forum or general class 3 section of the armory part of this website and ask your question again. This guys should tell you everything you need to know on the subject.

I believe with a drop in auto sear, you just need a low shelf ar15 receiver, m16 selector, m16 bolt carrier, and m16 fire control group. These parts can be found on the net from a lot of demilled colt m16's that recently came into the country. There are new manufacture m16 parts out there as well.

I believe all you need is an m16 fire control group. I think you can use any bolt carrier but don't quote me on that.

The M16 carrier should trip the sear to release the hammer. An AR carrier is cut away so as not to engage a sear.
