I've got all sorts of tacticool rifles and wanted to build something light and simple.  Unloaded the rifle weighs right at 5lb which was actually lighter than expected/hoped.  Specs are below.

  • Palmetto state armory lower

  • bushmaster a2 upper

  • rra 14.5 m4 profile lightweight barrel

  • palmetto state armory bcg

  • yhm break (soldered)

  • moe furniture

  • ctr stock

  • Noveske QD endplate

I am very happy with how it turned out and it is my current "go to" when walking our ranch.

Great looking rifle. That looks almost identical to the rifle I just built up a few months ago. Except I have a 16in barrel with a standard birdcage FH.

Curious if you are planning on an optic of any kind? I am kicking around the idea of an ACOG to keep it simple... But have also thought about an older Aimpoint on a carry-handle rail mount too.

Reason being I shot an ACTS Match 2 weeks ago and found I was accurate enough, I was among the slow end of the field. I know it was from having to pick up a front/rear sight picture every time.

I built mine to keep it simple and lightweight, which it is. However I'd like to be a tad bit faster on the uptake.

Thanks!

I'm not planning on any optic as I like the simplicity and weight as it is.  I had considered putting a flashlight on it but I ultimately decided this one should remain gadget free.  Feels and shoots great, now onto the next one! :)

So pretty. I really wanted to build something that, but I got a good deal on a dissipator barrel so I went that route. You are making me rethink it though

That's perfect for walking around the ranch-farm. I have a 14.5 h-bar bushy as my farm gun and it still feels a little nose heavy to me.  I would imagine yours has just about a perfect balance.
