I got this Colt A2 upper with LMT BCG and a 10/22 for an M&P 15-22. Looking for some ideas to complete it. The guy who had it did a rattle can camo job on it and I want to get that off. I have a Delton lower that I picked up as well. Any suggestions would be great! Noob to the site, not so much with the weapon system, but first time I put my own together.

Right now I've been wanting to build myself a camo AR.  My suggestion would be to remove the paint and then re-paint the camo better.

Slap a surplus handguard and A2 buttstock on there and you will be good to fo.

Installing the lower is easy. If you can score a LPK, then you can assemble one in less than an hour.  You should head over to the build it yourself section in the hive to get a better idea for tooling and instructions.

Got it soaking in brake fluid now, paint is starting to come off!

Brake fluid? Is that a preferred method? I've never stripped one?

I found it in the refinishing section on here, worked pretty good. Got it all stripped anyway. Going to do a new camo job on it.

My first post here but for pretty much any look you're going for you might try dipping it. Had my brothers old Marlin apart and with the pitting and restrictions on the good bluing products I found one of those guys that claim to be able to dip any pattern on, and challenged him to give it a Damascus metal look and I'll be damned if he didn't nail it. It looks good and is supposed to be pretty tough. They can do anything from digital camo to pink bows and ribbons, I lean towards the first personally.
