I think it will probably not look very good... but I'm sure someone has done it and will post a pic.

here is another question, will it function properly, i like the rifle length but not the buttstock

I can't see why it wouldn't. I don't know which buffer you'd want to use for the rifle-length gas, but I'm sure it would work fine.

Canada likes that setup too. It's the C7A2 rifle

I have been thinking about doing the same thing with a 20in.

I think they look fugly, (18in. looks a little better) but if it fits your needs, then that's
all that matters.

Those wacky Canuckistanians! Who wants to build a rifle like they do?

Does it go "BANG eh" every time you pull the trigger?

My first duty rifle was a Colt A2 20" bbl  that had the A2 stock removed and replaced with a 6 position to make it easier getting in and out of the vehicle.

Never had an issue with function or reliability at all.

However, a 20" bbl is not exactly the easiest getting in and out of a patrol vehicle in the best of times, let alone in a stressful environment. Now I have a 14.5" which seems to be the better tool suited for that job.

Cheers BT

i am not concerned with mobility to much, if i was i would build a lightweight carbine, i like the rifle length for accuracy and range, but the carbine stock for options, so i must create an abomination and i like the a2 setup so i will be making a a2 monster!
