going for a 1993 Somalia car15 build and need your help (Page 88 of 90)
| Anyone have a lead on anything carry handle mount? The last piece of my Gordon is the A.R.M.S. 16A or #02 with ring(s). I have been searching high and low for quite some time. A.R.M.S. says they are still making both but are between batches and there is no word on when they will restart. Finders fee given! |

Looks like that rifle has a lightweight barrel and triangle handguard cap with an A2 receiver. Don't see that every day. |

I finally replaced the old Comp M on my 723 with a new PRO so I I toonit out and zeroed the irons and the optic today. Checked zero on my A4 while I was at it. This rig is as follows 6920 barrel assembly Brownells C7 upper. Toolcraft BCG AERO lower Larue mbt Aimpoint Pro on a ARMS m68 mount that I made the carry handle part for.   |

@towerofpower94 What did you torque your above pictured optic? Is it an Aimpoint 9000? Thats what I have. The split rings I have say torque the bottom screw to 25 but nothing for the top one. The Aimpoint manual says nothing either. Thanks. Dave |

Dave It’s a 9000SC, and I just torqued the split ring bolts to the point where they were tight with an Allen wrench and I didn’t want to damage the tube. I also didn’t find any solid torque specs for the rings, so I didn't want to go crazy. A little bit of blue Loctite and I’ve had no issues since getting it mounted and leveled. |

| Question about the flashlight mounts that clamp on the barrel under the FSB. I understand a little grinding needs done on the sides of the clamp to get it to fit in there. Is there enough room for the clamp to fit in there with a .750 diameter barrel or does the clamp only fit with a pencil barrel? Thanks guys. |

From all the photographs I've reviewed, it seems like the Rangers had 660s with tape switches but Delta preferred the tailcap operated 6P. |

Originally Posted By Lancelot: Barrel diameter is not really an issue. They have to be ground down to fit under the FSB, and again on the bottom to fit between the FSB lugs and the barrel. The screws are long enough to work with either barrel diameter. Thank you, appreciate it. |

No suppressors with UTMs. Sometimes I shoot it without it anyway, super flat shooting. I still primarily use the mk18 at work, but since I primarily use NVGs to aim passively, not having a laser isn't always a big deal.

It may have been to easily mount the light at 3 o'clock. i have a picture of the clone somewhere. |

| I've always wondered if Schilling's rifle was an early 723 (which makes the most sense) or a 653. I'm betting 723, as those guys got the best stuff, and were almost certainly using 1:7 twist barrels. We know Colt's early 723s and 733s used A2 marked A1 lowers, but some export models were just marked A2 Carbine. If this was a COTS purchase, I'm wondering if it was marked that way. Nit picky stuff, and who cares, right? I'm just curious. |
