Big props to @home_alone1 Think I’m going to swap the upper HG with light to the bottom position and scoot the grip back a bit so I can activate the light with my weak side thumb Attached File And I’ll get better pics. Was rushing to get it on so I could go workout with the wife |

The upper handguard was a royal mother fucker to get back on for whatever reason, but I do like this placement better. Just press my index knuckle forward and the light is activated. Attached File |

I based the thickness of the raised portion on a set of Colt 6 holes. If you keep the light at the 1 o clock you can get a millennium tail cap and run a tape switch. No issues with it rotating or otherwise shifting once torqued down with an allen key in the bolt and a socket over the nut in the PG. Were tape switches a thing by that point? |

Just a simple twist for permanent on/press for temporary on cap. I did replace the 60 lumen incandescent bulb with an LED unit though. Makes it much brighter, especially with freshly recharged CR123s, but I lose any illumination with the IR flip cap installed. ETA: 6P, not 660. The IR filter doesn’t fit on this front part. |

I decided to do a BHD carbine build since I had accumulated a few of the items anyway. I built it on a Bushmaster (original windham) lower I had that wasn’t doing anything. I got a CAR stock set from H&R, A2 style upper with M4 pin and weld from BKF, I had a Colt marked carry handle rail from B Square laying around, an Aimpoint 9000 that came with a mini-14 GB I bought off gun broker, a set of Leupold vertical split rings I found in a gun shop, an old Surefire 6p I got cheap at a gun show, a Surefire barrel mount I had from a SF 660 set I found in a local shop, weaver 1” ring just like the one that came on the SF 660, and a LS-1 grip from B5 that I saw recently at a gun store. I pulled the M68 and chinesium rail off, re-installed the Midwest Industries front sight mount with the Shekkin 660 clone. I think this looks a whole lot better and I need to get a legit setup with the Aimpoint. I wish I hadn't missed the recent Eurooptic.com sale. Still waiting on an M4 Gordy suppressor to come back in stock somewhere. Attached File |

So what is the most accurate paint schemes? I know most guys had straight black and it was usually just the guys in sniper sections that painted them. I also believe MSG Gary Gordon likely had at least attempted to remove the paint he had on his rifle and was probably successful at getting it off the receivers prior to October 3rd. Were the paint patterns commonly used today with rattle can what they would have done? Obviously the movie versions are what they are. I'm less interested in that, as it's pretty obvious how they did that. |

Plenty of Delta 723s used an AP2000. I haven’t seen a Somalia gun pictured with one, but they could have. There’s some pics allegedly from Panama with 723s, AP2000s and QXL dive lights.

According to James Dietz' painting of the attempted rescue of Super Six 4, only the buttstock, pistol grip, handguard and suppressor were painted. |

Gave it a couple coats of paint and I think it's done. I wish id had some dark brown but other than that it's good. I may touch it up some whenever. Some liberties taken as I wanted to use some more effective parts. Malkoff light / head, updated surefire tailcap and switch, surefire m25, paq4, geissele trigger, 203 sling swivel, hub city sling, 5000xd, etc. Attached File Attached File |
