Nitride is the future and all companies better get with the program. View Quote You realize the real drive behind this is the EPA tightening the regulations of chrome plating to a near stranglehold, and not nitride being better than chrome? It has its purposes and benefits, but I'll take my chrome bore/chambers and hard chrome bcgs or phosphate over nitride. It's a marketing plot, and a way to coast the barrel inside and out in one step, as opposed to 2-5 for chrome and phosphate. Saves mfgs money. They turn it into hype for us to buy into or not. I think nitride is best as outside treatments. Then again, there's tons of different salt baths that work wonders. I just don't think we've reached the same quality as HK or Glock in the nitride/melonite treatments. One day though, and then I'll abandon the hard chrome stuff. |

I talked to them at SHOT. They will have 250 made for March but those are all gone to pre-order. They will build more shortly but waiting for a revision of the front sight post to making it taller so it could use with standard AR-15 rear sight.

Hmm. The piston system looks overly complex. I wonder how many parts can be installed incorrectly and what happens if and when the piston rod isn't put together right.

I think this is where the misnomer about the chrome-lined barrel originated: http://www.gunsandtech.com/news/tyan/wpas-new-t91-piston-ar-upper-big-3-media-event/ Due to the US firearms laws, WPA T91 upper will be made from imported Taiwanese components and assembled in Tennessee. While the barrel is imported with finished bore and rifling on the inside but it’s un-contoured and unfinished on the outside. The finished T91 hammer-forged barrel is 16-inch long with a 1:7 twist rate, and its bore is Milspec chrome lined. |

Do I need some special account to post bbcode images? Nothing I do works. :(
