Hey y'all, I have a question for you about range prepping your new Piston System AR-15. I remember when I first got my Adams Arms piston AR I went from the shop to the range and had a few malfunctions due to not prepping it. I lubricated the BCG a small amount but that was it.

Anyways my pa' just purchased a new LWRC piston system AR-15 (Very, very nice by the way) and I am just curious if anyone could help him by telling me how what he needs to do in order to prep it before he goes to the range for the first time. What parts does he need to lubricate (besides the BCG lol)? What does he need to keep an eye on? And, what else should he do before taking his first shot with this new rifle?

Thank you in advance for any help. I greatly appreciate it. And after the first range trip I will definitely let y'all know how it goes.

Thank you,
~Cowboy

I would disassemble it to wipe off any access lube that is on there.  I have three LWRCs and that's what I did and had zero issues.  After that, I clean it after every range trip.  I use Slip2000 EWL.

I take my rifles and put them in the truck.

If the bolt and BCG seem dry, I shotgun the action and gnarfle them around with a little Mobile 1 synthetic.

Clean about every 2-3k rounds.

Period.
