Okay, I am moderately familiar with all of the operating systems for ARs.  I have DI 556 and 6.8 SPC rifles and 556, 6.8 SPC and 7.62 short stroke piston (Ruger)  rifles.  For some reason (BRD) I am considering something else in 7.62.   Help me sort out if I should go with DI, another short stroke, or a long stroke rifle.

Your post needs more specifics. Barrel length? Application?  Definitely want another AR?

I am looking for a DMR type rifle, capable of accurate fire out to 500 yards.  I am involved in rural law enforcement.  I am currently considering a Les Baer 20 inch Target rifle with a brake.
