New guy here, I have had a RRA 5.56 a few years back and it worked very well for me. However, I have a chance at a like new LWRC M6A1 piston gun.  I have only heard good things from what I have researched and found on here about LWRC..  But Im not finding much though on the A1.  So,,, is this a current model?  Does it have any kind of a bad track record?  Good?  Its got a very low round count supposedly and I can get it for $1300.  You all seem to really know what the skinny is with these guns and appreciate it if you can tell me what you know and if this a fair price.

Details are:

Barrel - 16.1"
Flash Hider - A2 Birdcage
Mags - 3x30rd Pmags w/window
Furniture - Magpul CTR/Magpul MOE
BUIS: ARMS 40

Accessories:
Magpul Bolt Release
3x Fullsize Rail covers

I have an A1 and an A1-S, love them both.  They're less common because the fashion doesn't seem to be for fixed front sights, no other reason.

So will I still be able to put a say,,1x6 scope on it or is that front sight gonna be in the way?

I did this recently to take the pic as a joke:

As you can see, the front sight is up.  It had to be, the end of the scope was in contact with the sight in the folded position.    I did take a look through it, just assing around, and on no magnification (3-12) did I even see the front sight, it just disappears in a magnified view.  Now, on a 1-6, yeah you'll see the front sight at the really low magnifications, but depending on scope height compared with FSB height, it may not matter enough to screw up your FOV.

The front sight is too close to see thru a telescope.  A physical impossibility but the sight seems to look around the front sight base.  You'll see it at 1x, just like thru a dot sight, but not under magnification, it just goes away.

All my carbines have the fixed front sight base including a pair of LWRCs I bought with that feature specfically.
