i was lookin to grab midlength di gun (as midlength has more room for gas to (do its thing) b4 it dumps into gas key blah blah blah, that and the longer hand guard, as i am tall with long arms)., im now looking @ some piston systems. what lengths are their, is one better than the other, which one is closed to a mid length di?

Both my LWRC carbines are Mid-Length.  Work fine.

I think mid-length handguards were originally designed to make the rifle more cosmetically pleasing.  A 16 inch carbine looks dorky with carbine handguards and the barrel sticking out from them so far, and the bayonet flops around.

You thumb typing on your phone?  Hard to read and there's no need to abbreviate with a full keyboard.

I can only speak about Adams Arms kits since it is what I have used.  AA kits come in pistol, carbine, midlength, and rifle.  I use a Carbine AA kit on a 10.5" SBR and a Midlength AA kit on a 16" AR15.  The Midlength rifle shoots much smoother.  The recoil is more of a push than a kick.  My midlength is very pleasant to shoot.  My 16" Ar also has a H buffer while the SBR only has a standard buffer (I had bad luck with using a Spikes Tactical T2 buffer in my SBR.  I might try an H buffer.).

My AR15 16" Midlength AA has been more than reliable for my purposes.  The only malfunctions I have had between the 2 ARs was in the SBR when I was testing the T2 buffer.  I've only shot the DI carbine once and I do not remember how the recoil impulse relates to the piston kit.

Definitely go midlength regardless of what you decide.

I have an Adams Arms Tactical EVO with a 14.5" barrel - mid-length piston system and I'm really happy with it.  Not that much heavier than my mid-length DI upper.

My Middy 5.45 likes a standard buffer and sometimes will malfunction with a H anyone have the same issue. Its a Adams Arms. Running the Standard buffer I have had no issues at all.

What's nice about DI is you can buy any length rail you want and just use a low profile gas block for any length gas system.  But adam's arms makes them in pistol, carbine, mid, and rifle lengths.  Mine works beautifully and is super easy to clean.

I have been totally happy with my Battle Born Mid length piston system. www.Battlebornguns.com  I have several thousand rounds through mine and it has been great. Required no break in and is very accurate. The midlength system just "feels" better to me when I shoot it side by side with a carbine length.
