| I've been working on my first SBR a little at a time as $$$ allows. I intend to put the Adams Arms system on this rifle, but I haven't gotten it yet. It will probably be one of the last parts I buy. However, it is time for me to purchase my handguard. I'm pretty sold on the Vltor CASV, but I don't think it is compatable with the old Adams system. My question is- Does the newer low profile Adams system allow more clearance than the old one? Also, has anyone ever modified a CASV to work with the Adams system? Thanks in advance for any insight. |
| I'm assuming that your are going to have a carbine gas lenght system. The lite gas block may help out a bit. It might require some removal of material from the upper handguard a bit. The problem I am seeing is that I do not know how much of the clearance does the under section of the top rail has before you start chomping away? You can contact Adams about or try and check to see in FAQ section if the CASV is gtg by them. Or you could go proceed as plan and take you chances if it does not interfere with the design. |

yeah, I'm going with a carbine system.
Thats the whole problem with the CASV, it's pretty thin. So I dont think I would be able to remove any material from the upper handguard without going through? I looked at their FAQ page and the CASV isnt listed anywhere. Its not in GTG, or will work with some modification, or in will not work section. |
i was wonder the same thing for a carbine length, with a troy 2 piece drop in rail. would the rail fit, or would you have to modify the front and rear parts of the rail to allow the piston to work, or is it just completely a no go with drop in rails on a piston ?
