I am building my first piston AR and I need some advice on the Adams Arms piston system. How many of you have them? Is this a good, reliable system? What other systems are you guys using? Just need some help picking a good one. I am putting it on a 16" spikes upper. Thanks for the help.

God Bless.

IMO, if you are building a Piston AR then Adams Arms is the only way to go. It is very robust and I have had 3 no issues with mine. Many other people will tell you the same. The are around $280, which is very reasonably priced.

They are such good pistons, that they are being used by several manufacturers including Smith and Wesson as their OEM pistons.

AA kits are excellent and work as advertised.  the new kits with a one piece carrier are the way to go.  one thing to think about is how you will clean the area behind the gas block if you will be running a one piece rail as you will have to remove the gas block to clean here.

email me if you have any questions.

Look at the Osprey kit too before you decide.  Its much simpler, easier to install and doesn't require any switches to use a can.

I'm a fan of my Osprey kit as well. Simple, easy to install/uninstall, works.

AA seems to be the most common around here, though.

Doesnt Osprey provide the piston system for LMT? The LMT 12" piston upper ive been looking at you flip the dial 180 for regular/suppressed.  I personally own a complete Adams Arms piston upper and it works great.  I have not tried the Adams Arms piston suppressed yet though.
