Ok I am sure this has come up several times already, but here we go:
The PWS system vs POF? I hear alot about small differences and they are similar in price, but I am curious about the POF system. and what about supressors? which one handles it better? I can afford only one with the PWS I will have money for gas to get home, provided I am not trapped behind some prius driving selfrighteous green weenie who ignores greenlights and is to passive to depress the gas peddle!- |

M votes pws. Honestly im not a fan of the pof system I was wondering about that, could you be a wee bit more specific about the cons of the POF system. The bad things I noticed about them is that most dealers complain about their customer service and long wait times. I was at the fun store once when a fellow recieved his long awaited POF rifle only to find the cnarging handle was damaged. This could be the one in a thousand bad apple or a common theme. Curious about your thoughts |

PWS... They're accurate, well made, built in the finest state in the union Guys, let's not let this one devolve into a general pissing match, OK? double plus good on that, but I did enjoy reading the PWS vs LWRC thread....metalurgy indeed! |

Curious about your thoughts the PWS uses the AK style system and its very simple, there have also been tests by DMAK who did alot of full auto fire on his and his mk114 had i think 12k through it last i checked and it was going strong with no errors(he did have a extractor break at aroun 1500 but it was a bad batch) the POF imo is overly heavy with their handguards and heatsinks and i think alot if it is not needed, i think of them as one of the lower end piston systems |
| PWS doesn't dump its gas straight on to the barrel like the POF does. This has created corrosion in guns that aren't meticulously maintained. The POF does have some combat cred, saw a picture of a seal rocking one in Iraq I believe. I also believe the PWS barrel is of better materials too. Something about the POF always screamed UTG to me. |

Something about the POF always screamed UTG to me. the PWS does dump the gas on the barrel but its a little diff than the POF, see the POF has gas exhaust at the very front piston area so the gases hit the barrel hard which causes the corrosion if not cleaned often. the PWS has the gas vent at the very very end of the piston tube closest to the receiver this allows the gases to just lightly vent out of the system doing no harm to the barrel if not cleaned. heres an incredible 15k round review of the PWS system, this guy put it through a lot of use, hard use and he only had one issue with a bad extractor that turned out to be a bad small batch at around the 1500 mark, then went 13500 rounds with no issues https://snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3045160&page=1 also chris kyle and his instructors at his training school uses PWS which he was a member of seal team 3 and spent a lot of time in the sand box and he chooses PWS. i also got a reply email from PWS about who uses their stuff, they couldnt give me specifics but could verify that a few very small units have used their MK114 in iraq and afghanistan with great success. |
