I have a POF-USA upper.  It has the predator flat top rail system.  Can I put my Eotech 552 directly on it or should I use an adaptor? Also, where is the best spot to put it?  I am thinking as close to my rear site as I can without causing interference, above the bolt.

Thanks

I do believe you can put your Eotech directly on and as far as the best spot to put it, That probably varies between shooters. You should mount it, go out and shoot it and adjust accordingly.

if your POF looks like mine one thing to remember is that the POF's rail system sits a bit higher than other systems. this is sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing depending on the optics and the individual shooter.

just something to keep in mind.

Your Eotech will mount on it no problem.

1 more for it mounting no problem. As to where it should be where it feels the most balanced to you with the rest of the rifles weight and in the right spot for you visually.

I put mine as far back as I could on my POF (I have a magnifier behind it). That way the reticle looks the smallest compared to the rest of the sight, so it'll have the most amount of room to move. <- that's my rational anyway, but I'm not an expert or anything.

Hmmm, it looks like the sights are real far back in the photos on the Eotech website.

By the way, the rail shape and size is standardized - meaning that any gun that has a rail that looks similar is very, very likely using the same standard.
