I haven't bought one of these lowers, but that jig looks awesome. It sure seems that way. I realize the asking price would be higher than I would pay, however, if they don't sell them at the price they are asking, then i am sure they will lower the price. But if they are selling at the price they are asking, why would they lower the price? Yeah and that jig does look awesome. |

I love the jig. Never tried to roll my own, but your jig sure looks like it would make it easy. My problem with all of the 80% lowers is price. I just cannot understand paying as much or more for an unfinished piece. For $50 ...I would buy several and give it a shot. I get the no serial number, no record, but not the price. Love the Jig!.

Our products are 100% Made in the USA. These are 80% completed lowers that are being sold to Americans so unless you take it out of the country when it is finished it will still be 100% made in the USA!

Has anyone done a build with your jig yet and posted about it?
Also, do you have a storefront? You aren't far from my office. |
|
Not a store front but we do allow the public to visit with an appointment. Please contact our main office to schedule an appointment. http://www.kearms.com/contact
We have sold over a thousand of these 80% lowers now. I'll contact a few of our customers and ask them to post their build process |

Some people don't want to go through an FFL, don't want a serial#.

Your missing the point of economics. You are charging almost 200$ for an 80% lower that still requires further machining, and coatings. Who cares if its billet? There is no integral trigger guard, and it doesnt look special at all. Just looks like a forging. You are just trying to capitalize on a BAN thats NOT happening. Sure, people get the 80% to finish themselves, ALSO to have an unserialized, unregistered lower. That is more what this is about. You are trying to charge too much. If you charged 100$, Id buy two right now. Not one for 169, plus shipping and possibly tax. That would be over 200$, when you can just get the Aero for 200$ and start slapping pieces on right away. Billet is nothing special, especially these. Now, Hogan, POF, Larue, Mega, those are good billets. Yours is just a paperweight. I dont understand why people justify their outrageous prices simply because other people are out of stock. Last year parts were out of stock everywhere, but those with instock items werent price gouging. So, why gouge now? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Those are forged. Where can a guy find billet lowers for $200.00? ETA: I just found Mega's for $196.00 at Rainier but of course they are out of stock. Some of you are completely missing the point of an 80% lower. Some guys are doing it for the enjoyment of machining/finishing it themselves. Guys who machine these themselves aren't doing it to save a few bucks. It's all about doing it yourself. It's no different than let's say building a kit car or building your AR15 yourself as opposed to buying one off the shelf. Your missing the point of economics. I just noticed it said "meets and exceeds milspec tolerances" so how exactly do you "exceed" milspec tolerances? And why would you want to? For that matter did you actually get your hands on the TDP to find out what those "milspec" tolerances are or did you just guess like everyone else? View Quote Tolerance- Leeway for variation from a standard. Meaning To meet and exceed milspec tolerances means that milspec tolerances allow for a % of tolerance in sizing. Of course these numbers are small (in the thousands, ten thousands or even hundred thousands of an inch) but we make those variables even smaller in our machining tolerances. So if within tolerance is .0008 of an inch we may only allow .0006 or less to be considered acceptable where other manufacturers will let the .0008 tolerance parts be sold. So many of our measurements both meet an exceed milspec tolerances. And Yes, we use the original Colt AR-15 designs for our measurements and tolerances |

Especially when 100% lowers can be had for 200$. Where can you find billet lowers for $200.00? You can get forged (which are better ) form rguns....since you asked... You can find Billet Lowers Here for only $169.95 Forged Lowers are not better. This is a myth. In an extreme pressure testing the forged lower came out ahead on only 1 of the tests and everyone thinks for some reason that it means the forged lowers are by far stronger than the billet lowers. Are forged lowers stronger? Technically yes! but by how much? Let me put it like this if you had two lowers, one billet and one forged. If you put them in a machine that pulled on them to rip them apart and the forged one could handle 100,000 lbs then the billet one would handle 99,999 lbs. Its such a small difference that the overall strength should not be a factor of which one you get. The main difference between the two is tolerances. Billet Lowers are machined to much tighter tolerances than forged lowers and are designed for higher precision. This is the reason the Tier One and DOD contracts that we have are for Billet Lowers. www.KEarms.com |

Completely not very excited about this. Has no "billet appeal"....looks like a forged. Be advised....here's your competition... http://quentin-laser.com/store/index.php?cPath=27&osCsid=h5c797avdvbak875dnl00ao1k1 View Quote Not really competition- They sell their 100% Billet lowers for $174, ours is $169.95. They also do not tell you what kind of Material is used to make them. Could very well be 6000 series aluminum. Plus they are on a 24 week backorder! As far as their 80%'s go, they still do not specify which material is used. I doubt its 7075-T6 |

Order placed.
I was waiting for a good price point and in stock. Thanks for the sale price. Ordered 5 of them. I'm really interested in the 308 lower as well. Might order a couple of them next month. Any idea when the jigs for that will be ready? Estimated cost of the jig? |

I got my order a while ago; one of the plates on the jig was slightly fubar. I asked for a replacement plate and they sent a whole jig. Excellent CS.
I hope to get milling this weekend or next. |

Going to hie off to Olympia this weekend and cut the three that I bought, I'll let you all know how it goes. Excited to see how well this jig works - the bushings look to make the pin setting much easier.

You know, I was thinking last night I needed to pay attention and remove the rear pin when I went to do the rear pocket. Remembered on the first one, forgot on the second one. RIP rear pin.
Still, had a spare, so no problems there. I know some 80% lowers come with the very back of the rear pocket cut so you can assemble them on an upper to use in displays; it might be nice if you could do this. Another thing that would be nice is if the top templates had a rebate in the upper edge of the jig to align them. This would eliminate the need for the slots, and would make getting it all square easier. Thanks! |
