SPOTR
(Surveillance Platform, Observation and Tactical Reconnaissance)

LaRue Tactical developed the LT-SPOTR by request, to provide a lightweight platform that combines spotting scopes with standard  military-issue clip-on night-vision, thermal, and IR illumination accessories. The upper rail is stepped for the alignment of Leupold Mk4 12-40x60mm Tactical Spotting Scopes with a variety of military-issue NV devices such as CNVD-T’s, PVS-22’s, PVS-24’s, etc.,  while utilizing each NV device's std. rail-grabber mount.    The lower rail allows the addition of standard military-issue IR Illuminators such as ATPIAL’s PEQ-2’s and PAQ-4's.  A variety of different LT-QD interfaces are available to fit commercial tripod heads.  Precision machining and LT speed-levers allow quick disassembly for packing / shipping and  rugged mounting during use.

Base kit includes:
LT-SPOTR Rail Kit,  consists of one LT-642R (12" long SPOTR picatinny top/bottom rail), one LT-642S (Leupold Spotting Scope rail-grabber adapter), LT-642TL (Leupold tripod rail-grabber adapter).

Options:
1.) Longer LT Top/Bottom Rails in 14", 16", 18" and 20" lengths.
2.) Manfrotto Tripods with Manfrotto Tripod Head # 322RC2
3.) Combo Packages - Leupold Mk4 12-40x60mm (# 60040), Leupold Tripod, and LT-SPOTR Rail Kit
--- priced upon request.

Price for the  LT-SPOTR  Rail Kit - $298.00*

No, it's because ....

1.) Very few civilians have PVS-22s, etc.

2.) Anyone other than LE / Mil personnel wanting one deserves scrutiny ?

If I have half a dozen dillos can I avoid the 'scrutiny'?

How would you scrutinize anyway? Do you have a 'scrutinization' prodedure?

I needed this last year.  Two PVS-22's, one SR-25 and no NV on the spotter.  This is a nice idea.

Mark,

This is awsome! As a scout sniper myself I have been hoping someone would come out with something like this for a while now.  Great for Night ops but as far as daylight operations...can the spotting scope be mounted directly to the tripod with a small quick adaptor or something?  I am going to pass the word the the communities...they are gonna love this.

SD,

Glad you mentioned it and there is indeed a small adapter piece for daylight ops ... just forgot to throw it in the box sent to mfingar.

And speaking of Fingar, awesome pics as usual Mark.

Trav, thanks for offering to get the word out.

The scope and tripod mounts are both rail grabbers. For daylight operations...simply drop the night-device, and shift the scope forward to balance things out. The LT speed-levers make it easy when returning to night-mode, allowing the best of both worlds.

Mark

You guys rock.

My last 2 builds used Stealth uppers...

Unless I am going down the VLtor road...every single build I do going forward will have a Stealth upper at its core...

LaRue is so far ahead of the curve IMHO its funny....

Awesome stuff...keep it rolling...

I see that,  just trying to keep the system together... so if im on the move a lot during the day I just have the Spotting scope on, then night comes and I pull the rest out of my pack (just to save bulkiness) snipers are picky man! I was thinking a simple double sided rail adaptor.

Also This tri-pod with the rail grabber could be a unit in its self. it could grab right on to the forend of a rifle... that way the system could be used for the SHOOTER utilizing different shooting positions.  that way the this system could be sold as a set to sniper teams  (SPOTR/SHOOTER)

Very nice, but how does that tri-pod attach to the rifle?

mfingar,

Shoot us another pic with just a rifle balanced and attached by it's lower rail to the tripod's LT mount.

Thanks,

The rail grabber on the Tripod will grab onto any railed forend... a bolt gun would have to be a different plan of attack.

I think Mark is going to put a pic up soon with the rifle on it but it would be great to replace "AHS" or the Ace Hardware System"  here:

Radiant556,

You got UBL's address ?  Why don't I ship him two right on over.  Hey, and we'll dig up some parts for his ailing dialysis machine and ship them too.

In all seriousness, it ain't about the money or we'd be shipping our kit to just anybody and everybody that had the money.

The fact is that this country is at war and it's our intention here at LaRue Tactical to help better equip our U.S. soldiers and not help the bastards fighting for the other side a damn bit.

So, scrutiny it is.

All due respect, if you pay taxes in this country you are helping the other side already enough; because we are giving the free/discounted educations at our colleges so that they can go back home and know everything there is to know about atomic energy, biological bad sh*t, and chemical bad sh*t.  Go to any university and see for yourself, hell probably a good percentage of those who have performed bad acts against this great nation have been educated by it; and we worry about an aluminum rail?

swhitney,

You are embarrassing me.

We're working here in an air-conditioned shop, with an endless coffee pot, and nobody shoots at us while we work.  It's dreadfully easy duty ... patriots we are not.

Patriots are the guys living and fighting for us all and those untold thousands and thousands that have fought and paid the ultimate price for this great country.

As for you Patriots reading this, please ignore the few a$$e$ you see here.  They are few and far between and the rest of us are backing you 110% and doing what little we can to help.  Even if it ain't nothing more than paying some taxes without bitching.
