I know this will be simple for most of you, but I'm not sure what series these are. They've been living in my safe forever and I never have them much thought. Approximate value?

Thanks

Not A1, 604.

Later uppers but not terribly so, early 70s probably.

I've been out of the loop on pricing for a number of months, but I'd say $200 each +/- a little.

Not trying to derail but am I correct in thinking that an A1 has the same style sight but also has forward assist as well as the shell deflector?

Yes A1 has forward assist. Those are a couple of real nice complete 604 uppers. I can't estimate a value, with the prices I've seen retro stuff going for on Gunbroker. I see SP1 uppers selling for more than 200 and yours are more desirable than those imo.

Yupper! 604s, not M16A1s.

$200+++ all day long.

Those are in nice shape, too!

I think they may have been re-anodized, if that matters.

Nice looking 604s.  The proof marks look clean and crisp, so I'm guessing they are factory finish.  Very typical of an Air Force M-16 upper.  Thousands of them in virtually new condition were kept in mobility storage until replaced or converted to  M16A2s in the late 90s.

Oops, sorry, yes they are 604's  I goofed!  I just did a quick glance and left to find parts for the plow and posted in a hurry..

The A1 upper has the forward assist, but not the brass deflector.  The deflector ("Brunton Bump") typifies the C7 upper.

Those look nice.  Just to confirm, there are gas tube "X" shaped holes in the front of the receivers correct?  If so they are 604 (or a corresponding carbine) upper receivers, probably the latest production ~1970.
