So lets talk about this unique barrel profile for a minute. I have seen some funky stuff on profile and markings under the hand guard, but never in the front like that. Thoughts?

A 601 scope would have a Colt logo, I'd think. http://oi43.tinypic.com/2s9rn78.jpg The easiest way to differentiate between AR10 and AR15 scopes (other than the mounts, and the reticles) is the adjustment markings on the bodies--specifically above the eyepiece. The basic design, however, and size, etc, is the same. The Delft scope in the linked sale is original (for AR15). To be honest, though, I'm not sure that the pouch with the scope is the original one.
