Hello fellow retro enthusiasts. First post. I finally got a chance to put my M16A1 "clone" together. The upper is the brownells nds. I had a good friend use norrells on the upper and remove the nds forge. The lower came complete from ar15 sport. It's a mckay lower. The barrel is the blemished brownells had on sale last month.The really cool deal I like is that the trap door was purchased from a different place months apart. Handguards purchase here on EE. I love the older M16 rifles. The flag behind is made by Flags Of Valor. It was given to me at work to give to my step dad, he's retired Lt. Colonel USMC. Thanks.

Thank you. I have another project for a battlefield pick up M16a1. I'll make a post when I have some of my parts come in. This is a very addicting hobby. The fun and frustrating part is the parts search.

Looks great, I would probably want the stock to be clean without a stencil, but that's just my preference because that's how all of my A1's were when I was in the Army. Since it has the Type E stock, I assume it also has a birdcage as opposed to a 3 prong?

Nice rifle. Thinking about milling the NDS off my Brownells upper and using Norrells on it too. Kinda makes me sad I sold my 6 XM grey Colt uppers this past year, but I needed the money.
