| Seriously a work of art. Now since you will be bored, you can make a period correct crate, custom delivery tag, manual, and other accessories to really fill out the pics! the furniture looks pristine too, did you do something special or just get really nice old stock? |
|
Mr Trimdad you have raised the bar again.
Dat dare weapon is very, very nice. Thank you very much for sharing. Looks like it would be fantastic for shooting Jacks or Bingo's. What's the twist 1-9 ? 2nd the "Hope it shoots great." I almost like your build better than a real one. |

Mike62---Ya know I originally wanted to do just that. I was going make a military type
Box to hold the upper and a small one for the scope. With some tags. But i couldn't wait to get it put together . I could have waited another year but once it was in my hand it was killing me To wait for the last few parts I was short. Lol I still might make the boxes. The stocks I sprayed with alluma Hyde 2 semi gloss black. It's a dead match for early shiny stocks. This should probably have dull stocks.... But I like it this way...... I might change it later. Damn OCD |
|
2020----Thanks man. Every time brace would say he was going to work on it...
I'd tell him to hold off and send him something else to work on. Lol And we lost a year looking for a scope .The time involved actually helped as better pictures And info Has come out. |
|
Cdenmark---Thank you sir, I appreciate it.
Barrel..... I think is 1/9. I'll have to check. The set up is actually really comfortable . Scope is the right height And good eye relief . I usually don't shout the things for a while. I just move on to the next . But I'm dying to shoot this |

That is-- spectacular. No other word for it. The ingenuity of the AR community in general and the Retroheads in particular never ceases to amaze me. Nice work, guys, Thank you sir and agreed. There are some very talented people In this group. I don't think there is a retro model that can't be cloned at this point |

Something interesting I forgot to mention.
When this project started there wasn't a lot of info to be had. And no good pics. So I called the one place that had some..... Knights arms. I figured the worst they could do was say no.... but they were actually very helpful. With the help of their head of acquisitions I was able to get some info from Reed knight and some great pictures Taken for me by their in house photographer . I know they check this forum so thanks for the help! The gun is correct in most details but the rear sight. The real one is a lot like a enfields sight.... but it was too time consuming to make and No point considering it will never get used. And at the time I got the pics brace had already Had it made. Lol I would post pics,,, but I was asked not too. |
| WOW! This build is over the top! The talents and determination of the hive has no limits. This is one of the only builds I have not done in the 600 series and yet it is one that I would most like to add to my collection of sniper rifles. Thanks for forging the path. Looks like I'll need to start saving my allowance again and stop work on the Land Cruiser and start acquiring parts for a 656! |

Beautiful job Kudos to all involved! Thanks man. And totally agree, there are a lot of very talented People in this group. There isn't much that can't be cloned at this point |

That's a beautiful thing, Trimdad.
As others have said this really captures all the finest elements of our little hobby here: --Inspiration, --Research, --Craftsmanship, --Collaboration, --Creativity, --Perseverance, --Patience, --A little luck, --And (we'll assume) a fair buttload of cash. She's a fine example of the retro art. Thanks for sharing! |

You know, Trim. It would be nice to see you put a little effort into these things now and then. I know it's easy to just slap a bunch of shit you bought on Midway together, but come on. Put in a little work! Ya know I totally blame this group for the level of OCD that has been instilled In me over the years . Lol |
