First of three retros I'm doing. Waiting on parts for the others. I'll post them when done. This one has the new Brownells 14.7 retro pencil barrel.

Nice build, looks great!
I'm just curious why on "Retro Black Rifle" they picture a 652 with a type "D" buttstock but they state that it used a type "E" under the parts list? Most pictures I find (mostly retro builds) show them with a type "D", does anyone know which is correct? Or are either correct depending on when it was made? Link below: Retro Black Rifle - 652 |

| IIRC, Type 'D' is correct - likely because they were an export item, and Colt was likely using up stocks of 'D' buttstocks. Note the flat slip ring also... typical export kind of stuff. I prefer the Type 'D' myself anyway - feels slimmer and lighter for some reason. |
