I bought this barrel a while back that some one tried to remove the front FSB on and really screwed up this FSB. They even took a grinder to it.
I took it down to John Thomas at Retro Arms Works and he worked his magic and saved it. Cant even hardly tell he did any work to it. Looks as good as new. If I wasn't standing there watching him I would have guessed he just changed out the FSB. I am so amazed at his work.

Thanks again John..........

We are all fortunate to have someone with JT's talent AND devotion to detail, that is willing to put up with our idiosyncrasies in the retro world.  There are ALSO a number of other smiths here that are INSTRUMENTAL in our quests for retro perfection.  Thanks to ALL who help with our addictions.

John is a magician and a great guy.  My faux 602 has a JT produced early magazine catch (serrated without nib on bottom) that you can't tell from the real deal!

I sent  him a barrel to be worked on and he called me Tuesday to clarify a detail and then got started. I got a tracking number later that day and got the barrel back on Thursday. The job involved mill work and parkerizing. That is 2 days for all the work and shipping!!!! Unreal!!!

Same here, even over Labor Day weekend,  less than a week door to door pinned a new site on an old used barrel. Awsome work!
