I'm sure we have all done it.

Started with this upper I picked up a few weeks back.

A spare Anderson lower and a trip through the parts bin and you end up with this.

Now of course my OCD kicks in and I start thinking of more accurate builds using these parts.

C7 clone? Late A1 with a different upper? Some kind of 733 carbine build?

What do you guys think? Where should I go from here?

Thanks for sharing. Yes most do the parts bin builds and generally love the KISS bargain basement builds,  even retroheads.  Nothing beats taking a $435 homebrew AR and wearing them out at the range unless possibly with a $300 homebrewed  parts bin special.

Shoot it and enjoy.  Going to have to ditch the lower to make much of anything fairly accurate  build wise.  I recently did a very similar piece with surplus parts bin pieces and same Anderson $40 lower.  Yours is far more retro appearing than what I cobbled together.  I  did use a NOS FN barrel.  Total actual cost of parts was $435 as it sits.  Stock was given to me (freebie) , rest I had to buy at one time or another. Yes,  it's a very deadly shooter.  I'll post a target next time I take it out.

Don't much care for the looks of the Anderson lowers with integral trigger guard but couldn't argue with the price at LGS.  Probably decent in extreme cold weather with gloves.  Easier to assemble.  Think I put it together in less the 30 minutes once parts were laid out for assembly.  NM sight assembly  took the most time.

That one looks like the spitting image of the other build I did at the same time,Cdenmark.

Complete Pre Ban Eagle Arms A2 that had the lower liberated to a friend in CT.

Great build. It has a nice retro edge to it. I have done a couple that way and all but one ended up as a correct model in the end. My daughter fell in love with the carbine mutt I built, so it became hers. I did not notice the built in trigger guard. All the Andersons around my neck of the woods don't have that.
