| I have an aimpoint 2000 my wife bought me when we were dating. Our 25th anniversary is this month. Were they used on any retro ARs? I've used it on handguns and 10/22s with great success. |

| Try a 123 Lithium battery instead of the recommended Swedish ones that are made from Unobtainium. I have had success with my Short 2000 that I picked up on a gun store bargain table about a decade ago and plan someday to put on a 653 build. Only weird thing is when it's off and the front cap is closed, I can faintly see the LED, however well a year now it still turns on, so I'm guessing it must not be draining the battery too much |

You answered my next question before I had a chance to ask it. I'll try this weekend. |

The Aimpoint 2000 was being used by 1SFOD-D in the late 80s, early 90s. Here is some background from Larry Vickers. http://soldiersystems.net/2013/11/19/bcm-gunfighter-history-vol-1-the-scud-hunter-carbine/ This is the timeframe I got mine. Thanks for link. |
