So I cleaned off the paint on these old handguards a friend gave me a while back and I found these on both.  Can anyone ID?

Those are typically found coming from GM Hydramatic M16A1s.

Thanks for the reply.  Would a GM no trap D stock have the same type of marking as well?

If only I was so lucky........the D stock doesn't have it.  I shouldn't complain for stumbling upon a GM upper and finding a mint GM barrel on GB with a 601 duckbill attached withing 30 days is good luck I guess.

I remember seeing this mark like 7 years ago. I would have know I wouldn't have been cutting the furniture up for 607 stuff.

Unsure who made them.  I believe these are on the HRAs as well

Just like Colt, both GM and H&R only made the 12 major components for their M16A1s in house and contracted out production of the rest of the parts to different companies. Stocks, handguards and grips were some of those contracted parts.
