I have a real CAR stock not the tube just the stock from a Vietnam era M16 and some old 20rd mags that look nearly new from that era as well.
I had plans to build an M16CAR but that never happened as I'm an SR25 guy. The stock is aluminum. Has some heavy paint that would need to be removed.
I'm looking for rough prices on these. I really want them to go to guys who are going to complete builds. I'll post pics up tomorrow.
Some of the mags are marked 556 some 223 but all are Colt.  Also some have steel followers.

There is a tacked appraisal thread you need to ask this in, but you could just start by searching for what they're going for in the EE or gunbroker recently.

Are you sure it's paint? Those old CAR stocks were coated in vinyl acetate, which kind of looks like thick paint.

That would be a good way to knock $200 off of the value.

Yeah, that thick paint is keeping your stock worth a lot more if it's vinyl acetate.....show some pics....

It's the bottom one. The top I'm not sure what it is. I've been told that the bottom one may not be Colt either.

DO NOT STRIP DOWN THE METAL STOCK.

Don't do anything to that stock, you will kill the value, it is like cleaning an old coin, you could loose 50-75% off the value if you clean it.

I'm not planning on doing anything to it. Just trying to see what the value is.
