Hello fellow RBRD sufferers:

I recently purchased a stripped 604 upper & am torn between a carbine or rifle.

I just bought a Colt pre ban carbine, but am thinking I can't decide what to do with this 604 upper.....I have a 20" Green Mountain barrel.....but I've always wanted to make  a GAU Air Force 649.

Help!

I know what's going to happen....I'll buy another 604 & make both...

My advice? A rifle/carbine 605.

More than likely.  Build the rifle while you gather parts for the carbine.  Already have the carbine to shoot.  Going to end up with both anyway.

Is this a trick question?  On this forum?  Both, of course.

Yeah, I thought we had no choice in building just one. I thought it was do the first one, build the next one and then by the twentieth one start all over.

OP I can't wait to see some build pics! Enjoy the build or builds.

2nd the 605 idea.I started with a 604,then picked up a 605ish upper. It had a C7 upper receiver and the barrel is 16" instead of 15". I have a slickside upper coming from Fulton that will go on it. I'll leave it 16" to keep from dealing with NFA. The extra inch should make it more reliable functioning.

Thank you.

Not a trick question--I like the GAU, but my pre-ban carbine isn't exactly correct.

And I like the 604....

I need both
