I have some questions in regards to parts for a possible 601 clone.
Here goes..........

- Are there any options for a new made chrome bolt/bolt carrier (obviously no FA cuts) out there?

- Where can I find a suitable repro early duckbill three prong FH?

- Has anyone painted a set of triangular hand guards, pistol grip, and type D rear stock the same color green as the 601?  What color did they use?  How did it work out?

- Were there differences with the rear sight wheel on the 601 as opposed to the M16A1?

Thanks
just looking for information and considering a possible clone build soon.

The only thing I know to answer is that the 601 sight wheel has the R and arrow on it,  instead of cast into the upper. And they are near impossible to find.

New carriers are available but I forget who makes them. Somebody will be along in a minute to tell us both but originals can still be had for reasonable prices and it's probably the easiest/cheapest 601 part you will find.

A user on here, John Thomas can hook you up with a duckbill and here's his site

I picked up a painted set that somebody else did and it has held up fine. It is testors FS34079

Young manufacturing makes slick side chrome bolt carriers.  Stag mags chrome bolts
Inovative industries makes an exact duplicate 601 flash hider.  601 duckbill $30
Nodak Spud makes a 601 slab side lower and 601 triangular charging handle
Testors "FS34079" paint matches testors  I used it on a 601, works great.
