Lord almighty. Super nice.

I noticed that it said in the letter from Colt that the rifle would ship with two magazines blocked to 5 rounds. Did they they have magazine capacity restrictions in 1965 Illinois?

It's very nice, I've seen this gun listed at least 2-3 times before, I guess nobody is wanting to spend over $5K for an early SP1.

1964 SP1, Scope, Sling, no box, or mags (?), but with receipt and Colt letter of some kind.

That Price Is - What?  About 50% too high?

Well considering that a couple 1965 4 digit sold for $3000 and used at that, I'm sure that $5000 for a 1964 with all that stuff is more than worth it!

Looks like maybe a type C.

I would like to know all the details too. The pics are not telling us too much. But even if it had a cast FSB, early barrel, stock etc, it still would not be a 6K rifle.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I personally think it's a bit high but if someone with no concern of money wants it, they will pay.

It appears to be a Type D, from looking at picture #1.

He has had this on sale for well over a year at $7500. He is at least getting a little more realistic with his price.
