So I bought this from a local guy and need some insight on when it was manufactured. I got the barrel, FSB w/gas tube and a lo pro gas block w/tube for $50. Rifling looks good.

I read through the Stickied link and I think it said it was produced from 71 to 74. Is that correct? I'm going to use this on the colt kits from LG Outdoors.

Good price!  Yep, it's an early 70's Colt barrel with chrome bore and 1-12 twist.
You have the original FSB?  If so, it should be easy to reinstall.

I would say you did very well for a colt barrel of that vintage in that nice of shape.
wish I could find stuff like that for that cheap.

They only made those for a few years - pretty uncommon barrel. Great score!

Thanks guys. I just hope it shoots decent.

I actually found it on FB. A guy was selling it locally and I was expecting it to be really beat up. He took it off a colt upper to swap it out to a heavy barrel.

Very nice deal

You could probably sell the FSB you got from the kit for $30 and only be into the barrel for $20 if you want to look at it that way.

or you could mount the FSB and sell the barrel for about $300, what a great deal you got! looks like its missing the taper pins.

Amazing its worth that much!

I'm going to use it for that kit I have. I have the taper pins in the kit so I don't need those. Which FSB should I use? The one that came with the kit or the one with the barrel? Or does it even matter?

The one original to the barrel will fit. The kit one might fit.

Use the one that came with barrel as it has a more defined C and bell where kits were mfg later and are less defined.  As stated usually easier to install orginal barrel mate.
