I have seen some super good clones of Xm177E2s by Sendra. They have mostly full auto parts kits in them from what I've seen. I have also heard these were the rifles the Branch Davidians were modifying in Waco aswell. Any one have one or any info?

I bought a Sendra AR recently with the intention of parting it out and keeping what I wanted off of it. (I kept the barrel, b/c, and stock assembly)

I bought it private sale, and the previous owner I think from talking to him had owned it since before '94, but Im not sure if he bought it new.

Here is what it had on it when I got it:

Colt barrel
Colt bolt
non-colt AR15 carrier
LM marked upper receiver with the sendra no-pad port door
type E stock with wine colored buffer

The lower had a commercial pistol grip on it (lonestar maybe?), an M16 hammer, AR15 smooth sided selector, and Im not sure if the trigger was M16 or AR15. I didnt take it out to mess with it anymore as I was just planning on selling it. As soon as I got it home and starting looking it over, I took the hammer spur to the grinding wheel. Maybe it was wrong, but I didnt want to be in procession of that.

It was a real mixmaster of parts, but it was one of the best gun deals Ill probably ever come across.

Sendra only sold lowers.  The parts were put in by whomever built them up after the lowers were first sold.  Dunno bout the Waco stuff.

ETA I own two Sendras right now, and have handled or owned others in the past.  Nice lowers, and tend to a deep purple color in the anodizing.

Why did Sendra make port doors and buffer tubes if they only sold lowers? (serious question, not trying to be a dick )

Secondly, the Sendra I sold on gb went for $750, just fyi if you wanted to dump it

Jerry Drasen ran both Sendra and Nesard.  Sendra sold the lowers, Nesard sold the parts and parts kits (minus the lower receiver).  Notice the connection... Drasen, Sendra, Nesard...

We have come to call the port doors "Sendra" parts, when technically, I guess we should call them "Nesard" parts.  It's all the same though.

My guess is Jerry wanted to avoid the 11% excise tax levied on manufacturers' sales of complete firearms and complete firearm "kits" (all parts including the lower).  Hence the two seperate companies.

Interesting! So back then you could basically buy an AR15 kit for a fun DIY project!

One's an RR conversion and the other is one of my RDIAS hosts, so I'll probably hang on to 'em

I would love an RDIAS. I held onto a FA FCG for several years, hoping to be able to afford one, then decided it was not worth having around, just in case. If I ever do get an RDIAS though, I'll need to buy the FCG parts again.

Everything but the lower, $275.00.

Another Sendra claim to fame is there was alot of fuzziness where their Pre Ban ended and Post Ban began.  This caused all sorts of confusion and occasionally intentional and unintentional price gouging before the AWB ended and continues in the Orwellian Ban States run by the pinko commies (where the distinction still matters).

I used to buy "CMP Chrome Bore" barrels, still in the VCI paper and foil wrap with straws in the barrel, from Jerry (Drasen) for $65 each by the case of 10 or 12.
