Are they real or repops?  Bought them to replace the damaged ones I got with my "kit".  They are clearly very different and I have not been able to find anything like them in my Google searches.

Here are some pics comparing them to my known real ones.

Screws VS. rivets and the mold is much thinner in the delta ring area:

Heat shields are shaped differently to follow the different contours of the handguard:

Sloppy fit at the rear.  Front fits nice and tight though:

I don't think repros exist.    Looks like a repair.    Not all of them fit right.

In the back of the hand guard there is a channel that the teeth of the barrel nut dig into, yours doesn't look that worn.  That does look really loose, was your weld sprig damaged?  You could try laying fiberglass in the channel of the hand guard, maybe try masking / duct tape first.  It will probably be easier to make / find another pair.

Those HG's belong on The Marushin M-16A1 PFC prop gun!

Similar to the MGC prop guns, but have a liner... Hope that helps. I had a box full of both styles laying around. Though I might have chucked em.

ETA: the early M-16A1 kits had the screws! MGC was bought by Marushin, who restyled it through the years. Current models look just like real HG's with the rivet replacing the screws...

I was able to fab a few real M-16 parts to my prop guns, but for the most part the prop gun parts are just a tad to small. I was able to mod a set of real handguards that fit rather well.

Actually, those things look pretty shiny.  If there is no fiberglass in them you could probably polish them like crazy.

They're in very good condition.  I could easily fix them so they're tight in the delta ring but  they feel much more flimsy than the real ones.  That along with knowing they're not the real thing would bug me to the end of time.

Seller has agreed to take them back and refund me.
