Greetings from the UK, how much would a full auto Colt M16A1 lower cost in the US?? What floorsander said is correct...why do you ask? Always like to hear the reasons behind questions like that! (primarily because i get into arguments with my old friends in the UK over US gun pricing all the time). |
| I made some enquiries on a pre 1995 Deactivated Un issued Colt M16A1on a UK website called Gunstar (section de- activated weapons page 12) the seller informed me that the fire control systems was still in place, the bolt carrier was un molested, apart from the bolt head been cut at an angle and the chamber has been pinned, its complete, price £2500, the lower receiver is untouched, I bet this makes some of you sick!!! (when I say pre 1995 thats when deactivation in the UK did not butcher the firearm) |

I'd be interested in seeing some pics of the deac and the lower in question if you get it mate. |
| I don't know about the rest and I'm sure they would but I'd definately like to see pics if possible. Simply curious as to how pre 1995 it actually is? Serial within a few digits possibly and the parts on it. Barrel stampings etc. Guess I could search gunstar. When I lived in UK none of my crowd mostly college students had any firearms and were amazed that I actually did. I believe a few of their parents belonged to shooting/ sporting clubs and such. Most of those were still a little standoffish. |

Legitimately the only time i ever saw my father cry was when they returned his 1955 Ruger Blackhawk to him and they had just taken a cutting torch and melted/cut down one side. The pistol was given to him by a friend in Texas a long time before and he cherished it (for personal reasons, long story)....anyway yeah they really didn't care how the gun was deactivated so long as it was completely inoperable and almost impossible to return to working condition (or impossible in the case of the blackhawk). |

Appears to be a pin or something above the takedown pin in the pic. Anyway, it does look pretty uniissued from here. Someone in Britain years ago had a website showing their personal deac weapons collection, Thompson, M16, AK etc. Some of them sounded like a bargain compared to 2500 pounds. Inflation at work I guess. Personally, I might pay 100 pounds for a deac, but its a tough call. Probably break it up for parts
Here's an early one for 2495. |
