Yesterday, I picked up my 607 upper after having the barrel shortened again. Like a few of you, I was not happy with the length of the barrel before. Well, now it is good to go. I have all my pieces ready to assemble the  NDS-XM16E1 lower when it arrives. The sad thing is that I will have to wait to get my stamp before I can put it together. In the meanwhile, I am going to put the 607 upper on a registered SBR lower I have to see if everything functions okay. It may be another year before I can finally assemble it. The wait is going to be painful.

I wish I could find me one of those stocks! The upper looks great. I have heard it said on this forum that the wait is what makes the 607 so special...

Looks great!!!  Love the 607.

Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Looking forward to see it in it's completed form.

This morning, I grabbed my SBR (w/ tax stamp in the case) and the XM607 upper and headed to the range. I swapped out the uppers and set up my B-27 at 50 yards. Off the bags, first shot was about 3" to the right and about 1/2" low. Made a few more shots to see if I was being consistent. I adjusted windage by 3 clicks left and checked it again. I then fired for effect. I would say from this morning's test session that the upper is good to go. Now, I just have to wait on the NDS lower and then the tax stamp.

Looking good OP. I know having the barrel recut was a PITA but I think it would have driven you crazy. Better to just do it right now. It looks great, and my65pans stocks are awesome.

There is a member that sells them and the XM177 moderator repros on gunbroker. Do a search for "xm177" and looks for seller name "brick" and he can hook you up.

I ended up with a 10" barrel. The gunsmith opened up the gas port a little bit to compensate for the shorter length. When I tested the upper a couple weeks ago, it ran perfectly. As far as the moderator for the 607, Braceman made the one (3 1/2") I have. Brick makes the ones (4 1/2") for the XM177.
