Today, I received my Nodak NDS-603 upper and installed the A1 sight assembly, Teardrop FA assembly, Ejection port door. and CH. I left the BCG out since I am taking the barrel assembly, the moderator, and the upper to my gunsmith on Monday. I am having the BBL cutdown to around 10.5"and rethreaded. I also have to have the bayonet lug cut off and refinished. The round forward handguard keeper has to be removed and the triangular keeper put into place. Then everything has to be assembled. This will take care of the XM607 upper assembly. Somewhere around December or January, I should be getting the XM16E1 lower. I am going to have NDS send it to IDENT for the SBR marking. Hopefully, by this time next year, I should have my stamp. This will give me plenty of time to have my gunsmith fit the XM607 buttstock.

| can't remember what all you have, but as a reminder just in case.......if you don;t have another SBR-AR platform then you'll need a pistol lower to have around for that 10.5 inch barrel. ( and I may be incorrect on this, but a 607 should be 10"..........I think.) |

| All of the XM607 upper assembly pieces are with the gunsmith now. He did mention to me that since the barrel is going to be so short (about 10"), he is going to open up the gas port just a bit to get it to cycle properly. I also dropped off the uppers to my 723 and 653 to have them shortened to 14.7" and silver solder the FH to make the barrels legal length. |
