SIG SG 510

In the next image she is a very good company.

I think this is the AMT model.
"AMT: semi-automatic only variant imported into the United States in relatively small numbers. It was available in both .308 (7.62×51) and 7.5×55mm GP 11 Swiss, with the latter being less common. "AMT" stood for "American Match Target". It was equipped with fine wooden furniture and a rounded upper handguard."

Very cool and interesting rifle.  Incredibly engineered.

I have an old parts kit stashed away somewhere.

I remember that SIG AMT rifle. It was in one of the first Gun Digest books I got when I was a kid. Back in the real early 80'S. it was in the 2000 dollar range along with the FAL'S and Galil's imported into the US.

Basically an STG 57 right? Cool, but damn it's ugly. Bet it shoots great though.

Recently someone posted semi-auto reweld sections for the parts kits.  I think Apex has kits too, but no barrels are around

I seem to recall the mags are like machined aluminum too - they seem really well made

The AMT actually is a semi-auto version of the SIG 510-4 which had quite a bit of success in the international sales department to Chile and Bolivia, mainly due to the fact it was a much lightened and shortened version of the '57. They're still using it to some degree in Chile.

There were around 3,000 AMT's and 4,000 PE-57's (semi 57's) produced, very few PE-57's were imported to the USA due to the oddball caliber, maybe a few dozen. Virtually all of the AMT's were sold here.

The SIG AMT is my favorite .classic 7.62 battle rifle. I liked mine so much, I recently added a Swiss made SIG 551-2 SP SWAT to my Swiss collection as well, a great modern 5.56 rifle.

It's pretty wild how that ejector works.

The entire bolt carrier, bolt and roller locking mechanism are much more substantial than the HK91, for example. The SIG is a beutifully engineered piece which is so ugly, it is beutiful in its own way.

It is not a roller locking mechanism but a tilting mechenism as the "rollers" dont roll but tilt, this was so the Swiss could use a similar mechenism but not going against the H&K patent.

my next grail gun,

I have a barrel, some mags, bolt and a few other spares, just need a complete gun,

and had a chance at a PE57 as well and missed that too, like a dumbass

At least one party is in the process of making receivers for the PE57 and supposedly soon, complete rifles from parts kits in .308, not 7.5 Swiss. Good luck in your search. MiY AMT is a Benet Arms import, the first importer and they are something special to have.
