Two months ago I thought I could just order parts and build an AR.
Fast forward.......
I have a lower from LRB and when I called last week to get a current M4 upper they were sold out. I dug around in my safe and found an upper that has been there for 33 years (+/-). It was never assembled.

Is it possible to find someone willing to trade (even) an upper with the C and H markings (carry handle) for a current production flat top upper of the same quality?

I'm not offering a WTT here. I'm just asking an opinion if it's even feasible to try and do a trade like this or just go on to Plan B, C, D, etc.

Can't figure out how to post a photo of what I have. I can email a photo showing markings.

Thanks,

Hobo

Best to post in WTT & see what happens, a lot of retro guys wouldn't mind having it but keep in mind we are not real big fans of the A3s.
If anything I would slap a barrel into the A1 upper & make it a usable shooter until things cool off a bit.

I would think it's a very viable trade especially if CH code has correct port door and sight.  Keep in mind with buying frenzy today M-4 parts have gone through the roof.  3 week ago flat tops have doubled in price today.  Think I'd get on someones mailing/backorder list for an upper when they become available again and not pay frenzy coins.  As stated above a WTT ad should work also.
